Manager - Compensation
About the role
Manages the design, implementation and administration of compensation policies, salary/pay structures and practices for KnitWell Group operations, including Field (all 8 fashion brands), Distribution Center (DC) and Contact Centers (CC). Designs, recommends, and administers Field, DC and CC incentive plans.
The impact you can have
  • Provides recommendations for overall compensation strategy that supports the overall company philosophy, culture and business needs of Field operations.
  • Provides direction and recommendations for the design and implementation of compensation programs, processes and administrative tools for base pay administration and incentive programs.
  • Develops salary grade and range structures for Field, DCs and CCs for entry (hourly) through director (salaried) levels.
  • Assists with the design, costing and administration of incentive plans which improve management and associate performance and positively influence business results.
  • Develops analytical models and makes recommendations for annual fiscal year salary planning budgets, including the merit increases and minimum wage projections.
  • Manages the General Wage Increase processes.
  • Conducts job evaluations using external market pricing data and internal point factor job (such as Hay) evaluation.
  • Manage the compensation survey processes for Field, DCs, and CCs.
  • Work with the recruiting, HR Business Partners, DC, CC, Field management and store operations/finance departments to provide recommendations and approve compensation increases for promotions and other adjustments.
  • Provides day-to-day oversight of compensation changes/adjustments/offers within the Workday tool, including the development of approval matrixes for current associates and new hires. Provides management training on use of tool.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state and local compensation wage and hour laws to ensure compliance. Manages minimum wage compliance and pay disclosure requirements in all jurisdictions.
  • Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as necessary.
  • Values individuality and the diverse talents of their team. Leads the team by communicating expectations, providing guidance, delivering feedback, and empowering the team to be their best.

You'll bring to the role
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ year's compensation management experience within a large, multi-state corporation with 40,000+ employees.
  • Advanced computer skills, including expert spreadsheet (Excel) capability required.
  • Previous retail experience preferred in field compensation management or related areas International compensation experience preferred.
  • Experience in design and management of incentive programs.
  • Experience in job evaluation using external market pricing (survey) data and internal job factor evaluation Payfactor knowledge preferred.
  • CCP Certification (or working towards) preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state laws related to compensation (FLSA and related exemption status, minimum wage, pay disclosure and overtime regulations).
  • Strong technical, analytical, mathematical, statistical and conceptual skills Ability to manage very large data set.
  • High level of interpersonal and communication skills, including written and oral presentations.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations and information.
