Compensations Benefits Manager

Hybrid, Contract Position 3 - 6 months


About the Role

This position supports the organization’s compensation program by conducting market analyses, maintaining job structures, supporting annual compensation cycles, and helping ensure internal equity. This mid-level role serves as a compensation resource for HR partners and managers, providing data and insights to help the organization make informed decisions that balance market competitiveness, internal fairness, and fiscal responsibility.


What You’ll Do

Compensation Analysis & Benchmarking

  • Conduct job evaluations and market pricing using salary surveys and benchmarking tools.
  • Maintain accurate and current market data for positions across the organization.
  • Analyze compensation and market trends and provide recommendations to help maintain competitiveness.
  • Support the development and maintenance of salary structures, ranges, and job classifications.


Program Administration

  • Assist with annual merit, promotion, and salary review processes, including data preparation, analysis, and reporting.
  • Partner with HR Business Partners to assess pay equity concerns and provide recommendations as appropriate.
  • Review compensation for new hires, promotions, and market adjustments and provide recommendations in accordance with compensation policies and guidelines.


Data Management & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate position and compensation data within the HR system.
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc compensation reports, dashboards, and analyses.
  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of compensation data.


Compliance & Governance

  • Help ensure compensation practices comply with applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Support audits related to compensation and job classifications.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of compensation policies and procedures.


What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Benefits, Business, or a related discipline preferred.
  • 3–5 years of compensation experience.
  • Strong analytical skills and advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Experience working with compensation surveys and market benchmarking data.
  • Understanding of job evaluation methodologies.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Solid understanding of FLSA requirements and applicable wage and hour laws.
  • Ability to build effective internal and external partnerships.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
