Job description

Orthopedic Associates (OA) is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Specialist (hybrid) to join our growing team.

At OA, we do more than deliver expert orthopedic care—we take pride in building a workplace culture rooted in professionalism, positivity, and respect. Since 1985, our patients have trusted us with their care, and we believe that every team member plays a vital role in that experience.

We are looking for individuals who are:

  • Committed to excellence in patient care and imaging quality
  • Kind and respectful in every interaction—with patients, families, and colleagues
  • Professional and dependable, showing pride in their work and supporting a collaborative, uplifting environment
  • Positive and adaptable, contributing to a workplace where people enjoy coming to work each day

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage workers’ compensation cases from an administrative and compliance standpoint, ensuring accurate documentation, timely form submissions (e.g., C-9, C-84, MEDCO), and adherence to state and federal regulations.
  • Acts as the primary liaison between providers, patients, internal staff, BWC, MCOs, carriers, and self-insured employers to communicate claim status, authorizations, and next steps.
  • Maintains precise and up-to-date records within electronic medical systems, documenting all actions, conversations, billing activity, and claim updates related to each patient account.
  • Reviews medical documentation and claim details using sound judgment to determine service needs, additional authorizations, billing accuracy, and retro approvals.
  • Supports efficient clinic operations and patient care by preparing WC templates, submitting daily records, auditing claims, following up on outstanding requests, and upholding organizational standards, ethics, and collaboration.

What We Offer:

  • A supportive, team-oriented culture where your contributions are valued
  • Opportunities to grow your skills and advance your career
  • Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits
    • Up to 3 weeks paid time off during first year.
    • 7 paid holidays
    • Medical, Dental and Vision benefits
    • No nights or weekends
    • 401k/Profit Sharing
  • A workplace that celebrates mutual respect, compassion, and integrity

Required Education and Experience:

  • Previous experience in Workers’ Compensation
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, clinical medicine, surgery, diagnostic tests, radiology, pathology, pharmacology, and the various medical specialties as required in areas of responsibility.

Work Authorization
