Job description

Assistant Director - God Cares Ministry

The role of the Assistant Director is to assist the Executive Director (ED) in overseeing the day to day function and operation of the ministry. This will require a firm grasp of the beliefs, values, principles and mission of God Cares Ministry.

This is not a virtual position.

Role Responsibilities:

The Assistant Director (AD) will be a support person, responsible for the following:

  • Contribute in maintaining the mission and vision of God Cares Ministry
  • Provide assistance to staff members - supporting and equipping them in fulfilling their duties
  • Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with donors, volunteers and prayer partners
  • Develop working relationships and provide clear communications with our vendors, service providers, etc.
  • Research, obtain quotes and make recommendations for services as needed
  • Provide input on ministry goals
  • Provide ongoing support to ensure missional and financial integrity
  • Assist with grant writing projects and appeal letters
  • Participate in training programs, presentations and other ministry events
  • Contribute content for our newsletter and social media platforms
  • Participate in ministering to residents in a care facility
  • Participate in ministry prayer meetings
  • Communicate with church leaders to establish and maintain outreaches within their churches
  • Provide support in maintaining a team spirit and a Christ-centered work environment

Note: God Cares Ministry operates under a “team” philosophy. All staff members are expected to participate in all aspects of the ministry’s functions as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Committed and mature follower of Jesus Christ (John 15:1-17), modeling biblical leadership (Matthew 20:26) and a Christ-like spirit (Philippians 2:1-5)
  • Strong compassion and love for the elderly living in long term care facilities
  • Agreement with the ministry’s statement of faith, core values and mission
  • Bachelor’s degree related to Christian ministry is preferred. Equivalent work experience will be considered
  • 5+ years of pastoral ministry or ministry leadership experience, including supervisory responsibility, is desired
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and team-building skills
  • Relational skills and conflict resolution abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented with strong focus on accuracy
  • Proficient with Microsoft software and contemporary communication tools
  • Humble and teachable spirit

This is a full-time position. Compensation will be determined based on experience and skill level.
