Job description

Purpose of the Job:


  • The role of the Worship Director is to serve the Lead Pastors as a liaison to the worship ministry to coordinate the details and responsibilities of JC Worship. The Worship Director takes on the responsibility of helping the pastoral staff in guarding the spiritual culture and character of the worship ministry.


Experience and Knowledge Required:


  • Minimum of 5 years of worship leading in a local church.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects effectively.

  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and Power Point.

  • Ability to learn and use Planning Center Online software.

  • Proficiency in voice and piano or guitar.

    • Ability to create, coordinate and lead a worship experience with a team.


    Essential Functions and Responsibilities:


    • Lead worship weekly at Jesus Church.

    • Oversee and manage JC Worship, Production, and Broadcast team members.

    • Oversee the scheduling of all vocals, band, production, broadcast and ensure all are scheduled 30 days in advance.

    • Ensure the systems for Jesus Church Worship are in place and being used.

    • Attend weekly staff meeting on Tuesdays from 1-3pm.

    • Run weekly rehearsals in partnership with Music Director on Thursdays at 7pm.

    • Communicate important details to Music Director to ensure band and vocals are on the same page.

    • Develop hosting notes each week and ensure that position is scheduled.

    • Run Infuse Program to ensure we are recruiting and training new talent monthly.

    • Keep track of weekly numbers on stats sheet.

    • Oversee and cast vision for Big Days such as Easter, Christmas and Conferences.

    • Cast vision for growth within JC Worship and Production at every level.


    Other Duties and Responsibilities: 


    • Instrumentalist - Jesus Church Experiences

    • Conduct research at other leading churches regarding their approach to worship/music ministry.  Stay connected to other Worship Directors/Pastors at leading churches for mentoring.

    • Be highly visible on the weekends and interact with guests.

    • All other duties as assigned.

    Physical Demands:


      • The ability to drive their personal vehicle or a Jesus Church vehicle.

      • Good vocal health.

      • The ability to play an instrument.


    Supervisory Responsibilities:


      • Provide direct leadership, discipleship and management of JC Worship, Production and Broadcast Department.
