Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

The Student Ministry Assistant partners with the campus team to look after all aspects of the Student Ministry's 5th- and 6th-grade environment. This is a full-time, temporary role, from the end of August through the end of November, working 40 hours per week, including Sundays and Wednesday nights.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Serving and caring for students and their families in the 5th- and 6th-grade environment (called the MIX).
  • Managing ministry communication to parents. 
  • Leading all aspects of the Sunday morning MIX environment. 
  • Owning all scheduling of and communication with volunteers. 
  • Building an extensive team of adult volunteers to invest in our students, including Service Volunteers and Group Leaders.
  • Developing and mobilizing students to lead and serve within the Students Ministry, and working with Campus Teams to ensure student participation in weekend worship, the Journey (next steps class), and other church volunteer teams.
  • Participate in all Student Ministries meetings and events.
  • Leveraging the weekend to connect with volunteers, students, and their families. 
  • Support Wednesday night's student ministry.

EDUCATION:

College graduate, or degree in progress, preferably in a related field of ministry.

RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ years of experience in student ministry. 
  • Demonstrated experience in building and leading teams or volunteers, including recruiting, training, and mentoring. 
  • Proficient with computers and social media, and able to quickly become proficient in new technology formats.

Start and End Date: Late August - Late October (12 weeks)
Location: Onsite (Port St. Lucie)
