Summary/Objectiveย 

The PRN Outreach Athletic Trainer position provides medical coverage and athletic training services to organizations partnered with Fortรฉ Sports Medicine and Orthopedics. Our Athletic Trainers are on the sidelines to evaluate, triage, and treat athletic injuries.ย 

Fortรฉ, a leader in the world of athletics since its founding in 1983, has longstanding partnerships with premier organizations including the Indianapolis Colts, Purdue University, Butler University, Guerin Catholic, Cathedral, Brebeuf Jesuit, Park Tudor, Indy Ballet, Dance Kaleidoscope, the Colts Complex, Indy Eleven Soccer, the IHSAA, and Indy Premier Soccer. Essential functionsย 

  • Provide athletic training coverage for athletic events in and around central Indianaย 

  • Care for athletic injuries through taping and bracing, physical rehabilitation, first aid, triage, and referrals to Forteโ€™s orthopedic specialistsย 

  • Conduct an initial assessment of an injury or illness to provide emergency care and to determine whether they should be referred to a physician for definitive diagnosis and treatmentย 

  • Perform administrative tasks such as making phone calls, sending emails, and documenting injuriesย

Required education and experienceย 

  • NATA BOC certifiedย 

  • Licensed Athletic Trainer in the state of Indianaย 

  • Valid Basic Life Support Certificationย 

Preferred education and experienceย 

  • 1+ years of Athletic Training experience is preferredย
