Job description

Stand Together is a philanthropic community that helps Americaโ€™s boldest changemakers tackle the root causes of our countryโ€™sย biggest problems, from education to the economy, broken communities, and toxic division, among dozens of other pressing issues. We provide our partners with access to resources including funding, thought leadership, a network of peers, and a playbook for applying proven principles to transform lives and society.ย

We are building a community of entrepreneurial donor partners - founders, investors, and builders - who are accelerating Stand Together's boldest strategies through their time, talent, and resources. These are not passive donors. They are partners in transformation.
ย
The Stand Together Ventures Lead will guide and grow this network, someone with the experience and instincts to work cross-functionally with Stand Together's strategic leaders, matching our social change priorities to the Ventures community's comparative advantages and interests on a year-round basis. You'll help this network meet its potential and play a catalytic roles in driving meaningful, lasting change.
How You Will Contribute
  • Build the Community: Inform the strategy to identify, recruit, and onboard high-potential business leaders and support their evolution into high-impact partners. Build a referral strategy that gives existing members the tools and confidence to refer their networks.
  • Drive Partner Engagement: Build a durable partner engagement model that matches partners with our most transformational social change strategies. Enlist and support them in co-creating strategies, launching initiatives, and shaping Stand Togetherโ€™s future. Develop the feedback loops and relationship infrastructure that ensure no meaningful member activity goes unnoticed or uncapitalized.
  • Enable Peer Leadership: Create the conditions and environments - events, salons, working groups - where Stand Together Ventures members connect, learn, and lead together.
  • Collaborate Across Stand Together: Proactively partner with Development, Strategy, Policy, and Program teams to turn partner engagement into meaningful progress on Stand Togetherโ€™s priorities. You are the connective tissue between the Ventures community and the broader organization.
  • Run the Engine: Develop and execute 12-to-24-month strategic priorities, financial goals, and holistic programmatic and events plans. Establish meeting cadences, follow-thru and accountability. Partner across the Stand Together Development team to deepen partner relationships and accelerate ideal partner acquisitions through referrals and other networking mechanisms.
  • Performance & Accountability: Define what success looks like for Ventures - across financial contribution, partner engagement and co-creation - and build a reporting and accountability framework that creates visibility into whether the platform is creating value.
What You Will Bring
  • Deep alignment with the Principles of Human Progressโ€”especially self-actualization, mutual benefit, and bottom-up change.
  • Enthusiasm to contribute to Stand Together'sย vision and principled approachย to solving problems, and a commitment to stewardingย our culture, which champions values including transformation and innovation, entrepreneurialism, humility, and respect.
  • A builderโ€™s mindset: entrepreneurial, strategic, and biased toward action.
  • Exceptional relationship instincts and ability to work across teams โ€”able to earn trust, spot potential, and challenge high-performers to grow.
  • Strong operational acumen coupled with a history of fostering accountability and ownership.
  • Ability to connect vision to execution, with a track record of delivering results through networks and partnerships. Ability to shape the strategic direction of Ventures, while simultaneously, rolling up your sleeves to make sure the execution actually happens.
  • Experience engaging communities, donor groups, or executive peer networks is a plus.
What We Offer
  • Competitive benefits:ย Enjoy a 6% 401(k) match with immediate vesting, flexible time off, comprehensive health and dental plans, plus wellness and mental health support through Peloton and Talkspace.
  • A meaningful career: Join a passionate community of over 1,300 employees dedicated to improving lives and driving innovative solutions to complex social challenges.
  • Commitment to growth: Thrive in a non-hierarchical environment that empowers employees to discover, develop and apply their unique talents.
  • Competitive compensation: Our approach rewards the value you create through competitive salaries and bonus opportunities, allowing you to share in the success you help drive.
Our Values:ย Working for an organization within the Stand Together philanthropic community is different from many other places. The culture is deeply rooted in Principle Based Managementยฎ (PBMยฎ), a framework guided by the principles that drive human progress, such as dignity, openness, and bottom-up empowerment. PBMยฎ empowers employees to be entrepreneurial, to innovate, and to continually drive transformation. ย ย
ย
