Our agency, Axis Integrated Support, partners with various social service agencies to provide front line support to adolescents, adults and seniors requiring specialized care with behaviour management and client safety. Our Associates provide Individuals with physical, developmental, cognitive, and/or mental health challenges within a variety of client-based settings including homes, residences, community facilities and institutions will benefit from our support services.

We are currently hiring Developmental Service Worker's (DSW), Social Service Worker's (SSW), and Child and Youth Care Workers (CYW/CCW/CYC), in the following areas: Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge area. $26/hr

Position Overview: We are currently seeking dedicated and empathetic Support Workers to join our team. As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in assisting individuals with diverse needs, promoting independence, and enhancing their overall quality of life.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing individualized direct client support to clients who have been diagnosed with a Developmental Disability often with a dual diagnosis and are experiencing behaviour crisis and / or present with complex needs.
  • Provide personalized care and support to clients based on their individual needs and care plans.
  • Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration.
  • Foster a positive and empowering environment for clients, promoting independence and self-esteem.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client progress and activities.
  • Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Community Support Worker or in a related role preferred.
  • Certification or training in health and social care (DSW,SSW,CYW,CCW,CYC or higher).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate and patient attitude towards clients.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Up to date Safe Management Certificate
  • Up to date Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Up to date First Aid CPR Certificate
  • Clean Driving Record
