Job description

*This is a remote, field-based position. The selected candidate must reside within the Orange County/Inland Empire area and regularly travel to Inland Regional Center, Regional Center of Orange County, and San Diego Regional Center.
Position Overview
The Community Relations Specialist is responsible for the generation of new referrals, outreach, and marketing support in an assigned territory. This outside sales position plays an essential role in the education of clients and their families/support systems (including Regional Center staff, etc) regarding the menu of support services offered by Aveanna. Responsible for driving revenue growth and working with location management to ensure profitability, this key contributor is expected to cultivate and foster a mature network of referrals throughout their assigned territory. To meet these goals, the Community Relations Specialist is expected to spend more than 50% of their working time away from the company's place of business (or their home), involved in outreach, selling activities and engaging referral sources.
Essential Job Functions
Frequent travel to assigned Regional Center(s) - greater than 50% of working time - to build, develop, and retain strong relationships with Regional Center staff and clients
Attend and actively participate as Aveanna's representative in offsite meetings, in-services, and other community events throughout the assigned Regional Center catchment area to build relationships, develop a referral pipeline, and promote brand recognition.
Event/Project planning, budgeting, forecasting and execution as company representative at conferences, expos, resource fairs and other events throughout California (may include overnight travel)
Present educational In-Services for Regional Center staff and other public audiences
Plan and produce informational materials for events (conferences, expos, resource fairs, in-services)
Formulate strategic community relations initiatives to increase brand recognition and market share within region
Research and resolve sensitive inquiries and/or complaints from Regional Center staff, families, and clients
Identify potential areas and service lines for growth
Act as an Aveanna liaison to Regional Centers and other Community Based Organizations
Assist with utilization management of referrals; including follow-up communication with referral sources and family
Manage and collect feedback from referrals sources, clients, and community within assigned territory
Requirements
High School Diploma
Exceptional organizational and communication skills
Caring, positive, and empathetic attitude
Ability to work as a team with others of various cultural and ethnic backgrounds
Ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization
Self-Starter
Must possess a valid Driver License and driving record that meets company standards
Proficient in Microsoft suite of products including Outlook, Word and Excel
Bilingual (Spanish, Vietnamese or other language deemed needed by Aveanna)
Preferences
Employment experience in community-based or social services
Knowledge of Regional Center systems
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communication, Psychology or related field
Other Skills/Abilities
Must be able to always adhere to confidentiality standards and professional boundaries
Must possess a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
Proven ability to work independently and within a team
Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines
Demonstrated ability to interact in a collaborative manner with other departments and teams
Physical Requirements
Must be able to clearly speak, write, read and understand English
Must be able to travel; including possible overnights
Must have access to reliable transportation with a well-maintained vehicle (company does not provide vehicles or transportation) that is insured and has current state registration for lawful operation
Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling of 35 pounds
Prolonged walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting
Must be able to sit and climb stairs
Must have visual and hearing acuity
Must have strong sense of smell and touch
Environment
Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions
