Position: Community Use & Fitness Facility Supervisor
Purpose: The Community Use & Fitness Facility Supervisor serves as the primary on-site representative responsible for overseeing fitness room operations, community facility use, and customer service activities. This position combines facility supervision, visitor engagement, event oversight, and fitness center monitoring to ensure a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for all participants, renters, and visitors.
The ideal candidate is customer-focused, dependable, and capable of working independently while enforcing policies and responding effectively to facility needs and emergency situations.

Essential Functions:
Supervise daily operations of the fitness facility and community use spaces during assigned shifts.
Monitor fitness room activities to ensure participant safety and adherence to facility policies.
Open, secure, and inspect facilities before and after scheduled use.
Provide excellent customer service to patrons, visitors, renters, and community members.
Assist participants with facility access, memberships, registrations, and general questions.
Enforce district, facility, and safety policies in a professional and consistent manner.
Respond to emergencies, incidents, accidents, and behavioral concerns following established procedures.
Maintain accurate records, reports, attendance logs, incident reports, and facility usage documentation.
Communicate with custodial, maintenance, security, and recreation staff regarding facility needs and concerns.
Conduct routine inspections of fitness equipment and facility spaces, reporting maintenance issues promptly.
Assist with scheduling, staffing coordination, and event setup as needed.
Ensure facilities remain clean, organized, and welcoming at all times.
Additional Duties
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Community Recreation Supervisor.

Equipment: Uses standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copy and fax machines, and telephone. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Experience in recreation, fitness, community education, facility management, or customer service.
• CPR, AED, and First Aid certification.
• Experience supervising facilities, events, or recreational programs.
Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during facility supervision.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to respond quickly and appropriately in emergency situations.
• Ability to monitor multiple activities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively with participants, staff, and community members.
• Exposure to indoor recreation and fitness environments with varying noise levels.
• Occasional evening, weekend, and holiday work required based on facility operations and community events.

Qualifications Profile
