Job description

Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Manager Leisure Services the Program Coordinator will plan, organize, coordinate and implement a variety of community, recreational, cultural and special events programs at community centers.
Work Hours: This position will be expected to work a schedule necessary to accomplish City and departmental goals, including nights, weekends and /or holidays as required.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Essential Duties: include the following. Other and /or additional duties may be assigned. All assigned duties should be performed in an efficient, effective and safe manner.
Develop and organize special events for community centers
Enforce rules and regulations of recreational facilities in order to maintain discipline and ensure safety
Develop and distribute promotional materials as needed.
Evaluate recreation areas, facilities, and services in order to determine if they are producing desired results.
Collects activity and registration records and prepares routine and complex program plans and requirements well in advance for budgetary recommendations.
Education / Experience: Associate degree in recreation, sports management, wellness or closely related field; one (1) year or related experience.
Certifications / Licenses: Must possess and maintain a valid State of West Virginia Drivers License
