Job description
CESOSS is looking for a qualified work-study student who canassist in all aspects of Communications & Marketing, including materialdistribution, creating, editing, and publishing our newsletter, creating anddisseminating event information, managing our database, and coordinatingmarketing events. Responsible for researching, writing, and editing stories forLa Voz. Writing press releases, as well as other projects as assigned.
Responsibilities of the jobinclude:
• Good communication skills to generate stories of interest to the community of the South Valley
• Researching information for features and articles
• Verifying information and interviewing sources
• Writing, editing, proofreading, and subbing text
• Attending relevant events, fairs, and conferences
• Creating and maintaining a network of contacts
• Meeting and liaising with other staff including the Executive Director, Board of Directors, Advisors, and the coordinators
• Staying up-to-date with privacy, defamation, and contempt law
• Complying with industry and ethical guidelines
• May work remotely.
• Must be willing to conduct interviews in person or via zoom.
• Knowledge of social media outlets (Facebook, Instagram, and some knowledge of web systems)
10-20 hours a week

• Must have excellent writing and editing skills, be creative, flexible, extremely detail-oriented, and self-directed. The applicant must have experience with editing software, Canva, and experience managing social media.
