Job description

This position is located at Arbor Heights Community Church in Seattle, Washington
The Worship & Youth Pastor is responsible for:
1. Leading, planning and facilitating the churches Sunday gathering, blending pastoral care with musical direction. This role builds and develops teams to disciple the church through worship and arts.
2. Leading the discipleship and community life of middle school and high school students. This role blends relational presence with visionary leadership, creating spaces where students encounter Jesus, grow in faith and experience belonging in the church.
RESPONSIBILITIES
WORSHIP MINISTRY
• Oversee all programming for the Sunday gathering
• Recruit, develop and train teams to run a healthy, consistent worship ministry
• Provide care and support for worship team members both musically and spiritually
• Recruit and prepare people for storytelling at Sunday gatherings
• Plan and coordinate special seasonal events (e.g. Christmas Eve, Worship Nights, etc.)
YOUTH MINISTRY (Grades 6-12)
• Develop a comprehensive ministry strategy to help students take next steps in faith
• Oversee all programming ensuring all activities align with AHCC's mission, vision and values
• Teach regularly and create environments where students can know, love and follow Jesus
• Develop student care and spiritual growth through groups, mentoring and discipleship rhythms
• Develop a cohesive approach to next generation ministry with Children's & Family Director
• Recruit and train volunteers for various student ministry roles (i.e. teaching, programming, etc.)
• Create an attractive ministry environment where youth can invite their non-Christian friends
• Manage the youth ministry budget
• Be a visible and active leadership presence at Sunday gatherings and in the broader life of AHCC
• Partner with parents to engage, disciple and invest in students
• Communicate clearly and consistently with parents about youth ministry events and details
STAFF COLLABORATION
• Align the worship and youth ministries with the mission, vision and values of AHCC
• Work in concert with other staff members and maintain a strong teamwork mentality
• Attend all staff meetings and trainings
• Participate in continuing education events and training opportunities
• Advocate for hopes, concerns and needs of youth in the local church and community
