Responsibilities

Interns at Elwyn play an important role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals served by the organization while gaining valuable hands-on experience in the human services field. Depending on program needs and the intern’s academic focus, interests, and skills, assignments may include assisting with recreational activities, classroom support, administrative tasks, special events, or general program support.

Responsibilities may include:
  • Assist staff with daily program activities

  • Interact with and support individuals in a respectful, positive way

  • Contribute to events, recreational programs, or administrative tasks

  • Follow all safety, confidentiality, and organizational guidelines

Qualifications may include:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age (age requirements may vary by program)

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant academic program (e.g., social work, psychology, education, human services, or related fields)

  • Friendly, dependable, and compassionate

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Must meet any program-specific requirements (such as a background check, physical and TB test)
