Job description

Momentum PTNย is hiring a Social Skills and Community Integrationย Assistantย (SSCI)ย to assist leaders in running small groups of children ages 4-12 years, both on site and in the community. As an SSCI Assistant, you will assist with reaching individual developmental goals, while building appropriate social and community skills.ย  Our SSCI Assistants have the unique opportunity to build a rewarding career in healthcare and to develop caring relationships.

Social Skills & Community Integration Assistant Essential Responsibilities:ย ย 

  • Promotes a friendly, comfortable, and safe environmentย 
  • Respects and promotes the right of individualsย 
  • Promotes independence, dignity, and fulfillmentsย 
  • Participates in social skills and community integration training
  • Assists and supports the group leader with activities throughout the program, both on site and in the communityย 
  • Takes supplies to off-site sessions (such as snacks, first aid kits, park bags, etc.) per the needs of the groupย 
  • Participates in set-up and clean-up of group program
  • Knows, follows, and upholds Momentum's policies and procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet department and/or business needs

Social Skills & Community Integration Assistant Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent; required
  • Enrolled in or completion of bachelor's degree; requiredย 
  • Basic knowledge of child development and familiarity with MPTN programs and services.ย 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English well enough to perform essential duties and responsibilities; required
  • Bilingual speaking proficiency in Spanish; preferredย 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Communicate and work professionally and cooperatively with others
  • Successfully pass all post-offer, pre-employment screening requirements, including criminal background check, TB test, drug screening, and provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Ability to run, push, pull, bend, squat, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs.ย
