Community food security refers to a condition in which all members of a community have reliable access to enough affordable, nutritious, and culturally appropriate food at all times. It involves collaborative efforts among local organizations, government, and residents to address issues like food access, local food production, and hunger. This approach emphasizes sustainable food systems, social justice, and the empowerment of communities to meet their own food needs.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in community food security roles?

To excel in Community Food Security, you need a solid understanding of nutrition, public health, food systems, and often a degree in related fields like public health, nutrition, or environmental studies.
