The Commercial Loan Officer is responsible for developing and managing commercial banking relationships by providing financing solutions that help businesses grow and succeed. This role focuses on business development, portfolio management, credit analysis, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Successful candidates are relationship-driven professionals who enjoy networking, solving problems, and becoming trusted advisors within their communities.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Develop new commercial banking relationships through networking, referrals, community involvement, and business development activities 
  • Manage and grow an existing portfolio of commercial clients 
  • Analyze financial statements, tax returns, and business performance to identify lending opportunities and assess risk 
  • Structure commercial loan requests and present recommendations for approval 
  • Maintain strong knowledge of commercial loan products, treasury management solutions, and other bank services 
  • Monitor loan portfolio performance, including renewals, exceptions, and past dues 
  • Work collaboratively with credit, operations, treasury management, and retail teams to deliver comprehensive solutions 
  • Provide responsive, relationship-focused service that creates long-term customer loyalty 
  • Stay informed on market trends, economic conditions, and industry developments 
  • Represent the bank professionally through community involvement and local networking opportunities 
  • Ensure compliance with all banking regulations, policies, and procedures
