THE ROLE
The Memberships & Private Events Manager is responsible for driving the overall growth, profitability, and elevated member experiences of Spurs Club. This dynamic, dual-role position leads membership sales, retention, and engagement efforts, while also overseeing private event sales, event execution, and strategic business development.
As the primary ambassador of Spurs Club, this role is accountable for achieving annual membership and private event sales goals, growing overall club revenue, and delivering a best-in-class hospitality experience. The Memberships & Private Events Manager plays a critical role in cultivating a vibrant, engaged membership community while maximizing the Club's visibility and market presence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Membership Sales & Growth
  • Craft compelling, experience-driven value propositions that resonate with premium clientele.
  • Drive both immediate revenue and long-term customer loyalty.
  • Accountable for delivering against ambitious membership growth and revenue goals.
  • Develop and execute annual membership sales and retention strategies to drive sustained growth.
  • Achieve and exceed membership revenue targets and growth objectives.
  • Conduct high-impact tours and presentations to convert prospective members.
  • Design and implement referral, ambassador, and corporate membership programs to expand reach.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, businesses, and key influencers.
  • Generate consistent membership leads through networking, partnerships, events, and proactive outreach.
  • Manage and maintain a healthy sales pipeline and CRM database to ensure accurate tracking and follow-through.
  • Monitor and analyze membership utilization, engagement, and satisfaction to inform strategy and improve retention.

Member Engagement & Retention
  • Serve as the primary relationship manager and trusted point of contact for all Spurs Club members.
  • Develop and execute a year-round calendar of curated member events and experiences.
  • Design and deliver networking, educational, social, and Spurs-themed programming that drives engagement.
  • Monitor member satisfaction and proactively address feedback to enhance the overall experience.
  • Drive increased membership utilization, engagement, and renewal rates.
  • Execute consistent outreach and targeted retention initiatives to strengthen long-term member loyalty.

Private Event Sales & Revenue Generation
  • Develop and execute strategic initiatives to drive sustained growth in private event revenue.
  • Proactively source and secure new business across corporate, social, nonprofit, sports, and entertainment segments.
  • Effective networker who builds community engagement and elevates brand visibility through strategic outreach
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with meeting planners, corporate clients, associations, DMCs, hotels, and community organizations.
  • Manage the full sales lifecycle from initial inquiry through event execution and post-event follow-ups.
  • Lead contract negotiations, including pricing, packages, and terms, to maximize profitability while delivering value.
  • Optimize total revenue across food & beverage, room rentals, sponsorships, and ancillary offerings.
  • Maintain and manage a robust sales pipeline, including accurate forecasting and achievement of annual revenue targets.

Event Execution & Guest Experience
  • Oversee the planning and flawless execution of all private events from concept through completion.
  • Execution-focused with a commitment to delivering seamless, high-quality event and hospitality experiences.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, culinary, marketing, and hospitality teams to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Ensure all events consistently meet and exceed Spurs Club service and hospitality standards.
  • Conduct site tours and lead client consultations to secure new business and build strong client relationships.
  • Manage all event documentation, including timelines, contracts, and Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) with precision and accuracy.
  • Develop and maintain preferred vendor relationships and strategic partnerships to enhance event quality and offerings.

Corporate Partnerships & Business Development
  • Develop and grow corporate membership programs and sponsorship offerings to drive incremental revenue.
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with local businesses, chambers, associations, and convention organizations.
  • Create and execute partnership strategies that generate both membership growth and private event opportunities.
  • Leverage the Spurs brand to design unique, high-value experiences and unlock new revenue streams.
  • Identify and convert cross-selling opportunities between event clients and members to maximize lifetime value.

Marketing & Community Engagement
  • Collaborate with Marketing on membership campaigns, event promotions, and lead generation initiatives.
  • Maintain visibility within the San Antonio business community.
  • Attend networking events, industry functions, and community programs.
  • Support social media, content creation, and storytelling efforts related to membership and events.
  • Assist in the development of sales collateral, membership materials, and website content.

Leadership & Financial Management
  • Own annual membership and private event revenue budgets.
  • Manage forecasting, reporting, and performance metrics.
  • Analyze membership trends, event trends, and revenue opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs for memberships and private events.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and manage support staff as needed.
  • Ensure consistent use of CRM, membership management, and event sales platforms.

Additional Responsibilities

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or higher preferred.
  • 5 - 7+ years in private clubs, hospitality, membership organizations, event sales, sports & entertainment, luxury hospitality, or business development.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience with TripleSeat or similar hospitality CRM systems.
