Description
SUMMARY:
The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing marketing and communications initiatives that support the organization's mission, programs, and community engagement efforts. This role oversees brand management, digital marketing, media relations, community outreach, internal communications, and marketing strategy.
The ideal candidate is a strategic and hands-on marketing professional with at least five years of marketing experience, including work in behavioral health, healthcare, social services, or nonprofit organizations. This individual will collaborate closely with leadership, program directors, community partners, and external agencies to promote services, raise awareness, and strengthen the organization's reputation in the community.
Requirements
SUMMARY:
1. Brand Management & Rebranding
  • Support and manage organizational brand initiatives including brand refreshes or rebranding efforts.
  • Coordinate information gathering, planning sessions, and collaboration with internal leadership and external marketing partners.
  • Update brand assets across internal and external materials including presentations, email signatures, social media profiles, signage, and printed materials.
  • Maintain brand guidelines and ensure consistent messaging across all platforms.
  • Assist in developing messaging documents, mission, vision, and value statements.

2. Social Media Management
  • Manage organizational social media presence across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
  • Develop and maintain a strategic content calendar highlighting:
  • Mental health and behavioral health awareness days
  • Organizational updates and announcements
  • Staff highlights and hiring updates
  • Community engagement and event participation
  • Capture and share photos and updates from outreach activities and events.
  • Monitor engagement, respond to comments/messages, and grow partner relationships online.

3. Media Relations & Public Relations
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local and regional media.
  • Monitor industry trends, public policy updates, and relevant behavioral health news.
  • Develop a story pitch calendar and regularly pitch stories to media outlets.
  • Draft press releases announcing:

  • Key staff hires and board members

  • Campaign performance
  • Prepare regular reports for executive leadership and board presentations.

5. Website & Digital Presence
  • Manage and update website content to ensure information remains current and accurate.

  • Maintain content using WordPress or similar content management systems.
  • Support SEO and content initiatives to increase visibility and accessibility of services.

6. Program Collaboration
  • Meet regularly with program directors and department leaders to understand program goals, service offerings, and outreach needs.
  • Develop marketing plans and collateral to support new program launches or service expansions.
  • Create targeted materials for community outreach and partner engagement.

7. Events, Community Engagement & Outreach
  • Coordinate organizational participation in conferences, community events, and industry gatherings.
  • Manage sponsorship opportunities with community partners and nonprofit organizations.
  • Organize marketing materials and engagement strategies for events.
  • Assist leadership with presentations, speaking engagements, and community meetings.
  • Coordinate facility tours for stakeholders, legislators, and community organizations.

8. Marketing Materials & Collateral
  • Develop and coordinate production of marketing materials including:
  • Brochures, flyers, signage, promotional items and event materials
  • Coordinate printing and vendor relationships.
  • Ensure materials reflect consistent branding and messaging.

9. Internal Communications
  • Draft internal communications including all-staff emails, announcements, and leadership updates.
  • Support internal engagement initiatives such as awareness campaigns and employee events.
  • Assist with board communication materials and internal video updates.

10. Annual Report & Storytelling
  • Lead development of the organization's annual report including:
  • Drafting copy
  • Gathering program metrics
  • Collecting financial information
  • Coordinating design with external partners
  • Maintain a library of client success stories and testimonials for use in marketing, fundraising, and grant applications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of marketing experience, preferably in behavioral health, healthcare, or nonprofit organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience managing digital marketing channels including social media and websites.
  • Experience in developing marketing strategies and tracking performance metrics.
  • Strong writing and communication skills including experience drafting press releases, reports, and marketing materials.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and collaborating across departments.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience working in behavioral health, substance use treatment, mental health services, or nonprofit community services.
  • Experience working with WordPress or other content management systems.
  • Knowledge of public relations and media outreach.
  • Experience coordinating community events, awareness campaigns, or advocacy initiatives.
