We are seeking a Community Engagement Associate to join our Durham, NC team!
Self-Help is seeking a Community Engagement Associate to join our team! The Community Engagement Associate will aid the organization's community engagement activation strategies. They will provide support to credit union and lines of serve outreach staff with data reporting and analysis and developing support materials. They will serve as developer and administrator of the Community Engagement intranet website. Successful candidate will help evaluate program offerings on an ongoing basis and ensures the development of partnership frameworks to reduce management burden and optimize value to members, potential members, and partners. This individual will support our headquarters strategy by collaborating with mission-aligned organizations, including nonprofits, for-profits, faith-based groups, and community development departments.
WHAT You'll DO:
  • Preparing materials, customized e-mails, and other messages in support of our internal teams that combine data, member stories, and pictures to communicate Self- Help's impact.
  • Work effectively and cooperatively with internal teams to manage requests (including but not limited to training modules, website/online, reports, and other special requests)
  • Maintain community Engagement records and CRM system, to capture follow-up and track progress toward CE goals.
  • Work with our Impact Assessment Group and Data Intelligence Group (DIG) to develop metrics and reports on community engagement, sponsorships and other activities and interests
  • Perform market research and analysis.
  • Develop and update the internal web portal and web-based resources.
  • Schedule meetings, follow-up, and special events.
  • Convene internal and external meetings and communication focused on coordinating and supporting outreach and engagement work.
  • Serve as a national central resource and go-to for community engagement and outreach information at Self-Help.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team to develop messaging, collateral materials and other media to support Self-Help's community engagement priorities.
  • Coordinate activities of the Community Engagement and Strategic Partnerships Working Group and other internal community-focused groups, such as drafting agendas scheduling meetings.
  • Assist in developing and updating the internal web portal and web-based resources
  • Track and maintain data and create and disseminate reports on activities related to engagement, sponsorships and donations.

WHAT You'll NEED:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred. Significant relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Two (2) years of experience in community engagement or marketing at a regional or national scale with experience preferred that includes actively working in social justice for low wealth individuals and communities.
  • Data manipulation and analysis experience.
  • Experience with financial service delivery a plus.
  • Strong commitment to our mission - creating economic opportunity for traditionally underserved communities.
  • Preference for working in organizations that place priority on teamwork and collaboration
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint). Advanced/Intermediate skill level with Excel, Salesforce or other CRM experience required
  • Knowledge of administrative procedures and systems such as managing files and records and designing forms.
  • Passion for organizing information and workflows.
  • Excellent writing/editing skills.
