The Development Assistant provides the administrative, clerical, and data-driven foundation for Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale. Serving as the operational backbone of the development team, this entry-level role ensures that donations are processed accurately, donors are thanked promptly, and fundraising events run smoothly.
The Development Assistant is responsible for maintaining donor data, supporting fundraising initiatives, supporting our special events, and assisting with outreach efforts to strengthen community connections and advance the organization's mission.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Essential functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Administrative & Team Support - Provide administrative support to the development team (scheduling, file management, research).
- Accurately track donor information in CRM, process donor acknowledgement letters and manage stewardship tasks and activities.
- Support budget tracking, forecasting, and reporting activities.
- Contribute to cross-functional initiatives and team projects.
- Manage and maintain mailing lists and email marketing tools .
- Assist with development communications, proposals, and donor materials.
- Communicate with donors, sponsors, and partners to help build lasting relationships.

Preferred - 1-3 years of experience in development, fundraising, or project coordination
- Experience with donor databases or CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce)
- Familiarity with email marketing platforms and event registration tools
- Experience in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations
Work Environment & Requirements - Ability to manage multiple projects and shift priorities
- Willingness to work occasionally in the evenings and weekends for events
- Successful completion of background check and drug screening required
- Comfortable performing administrative tasks, data entry, and event support

- Must be able to work at special events in support of other Development team fundraising efforts.
