The Holly Springs Parks & Recreation is recruiting for the C.A.R.E. Driver position. C.A.R.E Drivers will be responsible for safely driving Town of Holly Springs vehicles to transport elementary and middle school participants in the Before and After School programs. The C.A.R.E. program operates during the school year (August through June) from 7:30am to 6:00pm. Morning and/or afternoon driving shifts available. Drivers will work 10-25 hours per week. The hiring range: $12-$14 per hr.
Responsibilities include:
• Transporting children to or from school.
• Preforming daily checks of a vehicle's tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, fuel, and safety equipment to ensure that everything is in working order. Reporting any van malfunctions or needed repairs. Refilling gas as needed.
• Complying with traffic regulations to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner.
• Helping children follow safety rules while boarding and exiting vans, and while escorting children across roads and parking lots.
• Maintaining attendance records of participants.
• Keeping van interiors clean for passengers.
• Other program support duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
• Valid North Carolina state driver's license.
• Clean driving record.
• Ability to drive a non CDL passenger vans or bus
• Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
This position is not eligible for benefits.
