Senior Industrial Security Specialist

The Boeing Company is looking for a Senior Industrial Security Specialist to join the team in Arlington, VA; Berkeley, MO; Daytona Beach, FL; Cape Canaveral, FL; Raleigh, NC; El Segundo, CA; Huntsville, AL; Mesa, AZ; Oklahoma City, OK; or Seattle, WA.

The security professional will have extensive experience using Joint Personnel Adjudication System/Defense Information System for Security (JPAS/DISS), Scattered Castles, JADE, JADS, Security Information Management System (SIMS) and other record repositories to determine and maintain personnel eligibility for classified access.
The Industrial Security Specialist will be skilled at delivering initial and recurring briefings on critical program information, classification marking, safeguarding and destruction, Operations Security (OPSEC), physical and communications security while being adept at managing personnel and classified-material records to ensure data integrity, conducting inventories and reconciliation for accountability, and developing Concept of Operations (CONOPs) and procedures for handling, storing, and transporting proprietary materials.
You will also be a collaborative leader who coordinates across security teams, Boeing engineering and management, senior leadership, and United States (U.S.) Government customers to obtain contract approvals, security rulings, and authorized deviations.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Executes Internal Security Controls through performance of compliance assessment reviews and self inspections to ensure compliance with government and company regulations/requirements

  • Identifies deficiencies, develops and implements corrective action

  • Conducts Administrative Inquiries on personnel, processes and situations in accordance with established operating procedures to determine level and scope of non-compliance with government and company regulations/requirements

  • Conducts Communication Security (COMSEC) duties and responsibilities (to include inventory, distribution and destruction), in compliance with government regulations/requirements

  • Protects government, intellectual, third party and company information from unauthorized disclosures

  • Develops, implements and administers an Operational Security program, security education, procedures and physical controls to ensure compliance with government and company regulations/requirements on large and/or highly complex programs

  • Contributes to enterprise Integrated Product Team (IPT) (e.g., participates in the review cycle and decision making process for enterprise export compliance, procedures (PROs), Business Process Instructions (BPI's) and Desktop Instructions (DI's)

  • Provides innovation and creativity into Personnel Security (e.g., reduce cycle time) to assist in obtaining individual security clearances/accesses for complex customer requirements

  • Provides innovation and creativity into security awareness training and education program (briefings, bulletins and visual reminders) to educate, refresh, and motivate personnel to protect people, property and information

  • Oversees Physical Security duties and responsibilities within Boeing facilities (e.g., complete fixed/closed facility checklists/survey areas, review and approve facility drawings for new or remodeled classified areas) to ensure compliance with company and government regulations/requirements

  • Completes tasks toward long-range goals and objectives

  • Oversees Sub-Contractor Management (e.g., providing contractual requirements and direction, site assistance visits and reviews) to ensure compliance with government regulations/requirements

BasicQualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Successfully completed Tier 5 Investigation (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) by the federal government within the last 5 years, or requires candidate to have been enrolled in a Continuous Vetting program within the last 5 years

  • 10+ years of experience in Industrial Security

  • 5+ years of experience in personnel security administration, physical security, communications security and/or other programmatic security-related field

  • Ability to obtain and maintain access to a Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and/or Special Access Program (SAP) access

  • Capable of traveling up to 50% of the time

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Teams, and outlook)

  • Experience with oral and written communications skills

  • Ability to obtain a successful US government polygraph examination
