The work:

The SAP Procurement for the Public Sector (PPS) Consultant is responsible for designing, configuring, and optimizing procurement processes specific to public-sector environments using SAP PPS. This role partners closely with operational, finance, and compliance teams to ensure procurement operations meet regulatory, transparency, and audit requirements. The consultant leverages SAP best practices to enable efficient, secure, and compliant procurement cycles across sourcing, bidding, awarding, purchase order management, and vendor interactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze business requirements related to public-sector procurement, sourcing, supplier management, and compliance
  • Configure and support SAP PPS components including Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), Materials Management (MM), and procurement workflows
  • Implement end‑to‑end procurement solutions aligned with public‑sector mandates, including transparency, auditability, and regulatory adherence
  • Support integration between PPS and other SAP modules (FI/CO, FM, HCM, SD)
  • Design and maintain bidding processes, tendering mechanisms, approval workflows, and contract‑management capabilities within SAP PPS
  • Create functional specifications for enhancements, interfaces, forms, and reports
  • Troubleshoot system issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
  • Ensure data accuracy and compliance with public‑sector procurement standards (e.g., FAR, state contracts, grant requirements)
  • Conduct user training and develop documentation tailored for procurement and compliance teams
  • Support testing cycles (unit, integration, UAT) and lead change‑management activities
  • Stay current with SAP PPS updates, public‑sector innovations, and procurement best practices

Here's what you need:

  • 1+ years of hands‑on experience with SAP PPS, SAP MM, SRM, or public‑sector procurement modules
  • Strong understanding of government procurement processes, bidding rules, contract compliance, and vendor‑management requirements
  • Experience designing SAP procurement solutions, workflow configurations, and process mapping
  • Ability to translate business requirements into SAP functional designs
  • Knowledge of public‑sector funding, budgeting, and approval structures

Nice to have:

  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA Public Sector and SAP Ariba
  • Familiarity with public‑sector regulations (Federal, State, Local), including competitive bidding requirements
  • SAP certifications in MM, SRM, or related modules
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Information Systems, or related field

  • US Citizen (no dual citizenship)
  • Must be eligible to obtain a government clearance
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%

The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
