Job description

We are Para la Naturaleza, a nonprofit organization committed to environmental conservation in Puerto Rico. We are currently seeking a Digital Communication Specialist to join our team! This is a full-time position, based in San Juan, PR. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing, executing, and monitoring digital communication strategies across the organization's communication channels to strengthen the organization's brand through targeted tactics that drive traffic to digital platforms and increase audience engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Create original content for the organization's digital communication channels.
  • Design and implement social media strategies aligned with organizational campaigns, target audiences, and objectives, tailoring content to each platform and audience.
  • Continuously refine strategies based on performance analysis and emerging trends.
  • Plan, create, and curate original and relevant content (posts, success stories, calls to action) using copy, images, videos, and infographics.
  • Maintain a consistent brand voice that reflects the organization's identity while demonstrating respect and sensitivity toward the communities and natural areas it serves.
  • Visit project sites and protected areas to document stories and capture images, creating authentic content that highlights the organization's impact.
  • Manage day-to-day social media operations, including content scheduling, monitoring, strategic engagement, and responding to messages and comments.
  • Create, manage, and optimize paid social media campaigns, making real-time adjustments based on performance metrics, campaign objectives, and budget allocations.
  • Utilize and manage analytics tools (such as Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, and Hootsuite) to evaluate content performance and recommend data-driven improvements.
  • Prepare and present performance reports with recommendations to optimize future communication initiatives.
  • Plan, execute, and analyze email marketing campaigns, including audience segmentation and content personalization.
  • Stay current with digital communication trends and recommend the strategic and creative adoption of new tools and best practices.
  • Manage the configuration, customization, and maintenance of the organization's digital applications, including CMS platforms, social media platforms, and email marketing tools.
  • Use analytics and monitoring tools to evaluate user experience, application performance, and social listening.
  • Review key performance metrics, including usage frequency, feature adoption, and user drop-off points, to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Digital Marketing, or a related field from an accredited college or university.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in social media management, digital marketing, and content creation.
  • Advanced proficiency with social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, as well as management and analytics tools including Hootsuite, Meta Business Suite, Google Analytics, and similar platforms.
  • Strong ability to create compelling written and visual content that aligns with the organization's brand identity and target audiences.
  • Advanced proficiency with creative design tools such as Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, or similar software.
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices for digital content.
  • Experience managing digital advertising campaigns through platforms such as Meta Ads, Google Ads, and YouTube Ads.
  • Experience designing, executing, and optimizing digital marketing campaigns.
  • Proficiency with analytics platforms and CRM systems.
  • Ability to interpret performance metrics and proactively adjust strategies in a creative, results-oriented manner.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong project management skills, including coordinating efforts with internal and external stakeholders while meeting deadlines in an organized and accountable manner.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities without compromising quality or attention to detail.
