Job Description
The Associated Students of the University of Nevada (ASUN) is made up of every undergraduate studentat the University of Nevada. ASUN provides a means for students to voice concerns and address issuesat the university, local, state, national, and international levels. ASUN is seeking to hire Communication Coordinators for the Department of Campus & PublicRelations.
Responsibilities
To act in accordance with and support the Director & Assistant Director of Campus & PublicRelations.
To assist with departmental strategic plans and objectives.
To focus on increasing the visibility of the association in the greater campus, local, state, andnational communities.
Produce multimedia content to release weekly updates to the students about ASUN, includingbut not limited to new initiatives, allocations of funds, passed legislation, and upcoming events.
To cross-promote relevant content between the association's digital media platforms, includingbut not limited to newsletters, blog posts, and social media.
Oversee & guide marketing positions within ASUN.
Attend the ASUN Senate meetings weekly OR biweekly.
Create weekly legislation digests for social media to extend transparency between theassociation and students.
Aid the director with creating social media posts for the president.
Aid the assistant director with the department's internship.
To ensure that the association's multimedia-content and ASUN website are compliant withnecessary accommodations set forth by the Americans with Disabilities Act.
To attend all ASUN retreats and trainings as decided by the Assistant Director of Campus &Public Relations and the Director of Executive Outreach.
Required Qualifications
Candidate must be enrolled at the University of Nevada, Reno
Maintain a 2.00 GPA and be enrolled in at least 7 credits
Perform all duties and instructions outlined by the ASUN Governing Documents
Uphold the Nevada Student Code of Conduct
Meet all deadlines set forth, attend all required meetings and training, work scheduled hours,properly complete and submit HR paperwork on time, assist in the promotion of the mission ofASUN and Nevada, behave in a manner that is ethical, maintain a high level of integrity
Other duties as called upon the position
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in fields such as marketing, journalism, communication studies, and/or related fieldsthrough course of study, previous work experience, or extracurricular activities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to positively represent the Executive Branchinternally and externally
Motivation to further the goals and initiatives under the We Are Nevada platform through:
Collaborating with the Center for Student Engagement and other campus departmentsto increase students' awareness of access to resources to further their success
Coordinating campus-wide surveys to undergraduate students with the Director ofExecutive Outreach
Meeting consistently with student groups on campus to formulate initiatives and
avenues of support pertinent to the limitation and duties of the Executive Branch
Extending participation in and awareness of the Pack Friendly Business Program withthe ASUN Vice President
Ability to work effectively and respectfully with politically, ideologically, and culturallydiverse people and communities
Excellent organization and project management skills in a team-based environment withmultiple projects
Flexibility and adaptability within role; ability to time manage and prioritize tasks

$3,000 distributed evenly over a 12-month period in a single-term
