Secmation is hiring a Senior RF Design Engineer to support the development of advanced military communications systems. This role is ideal for an experienced, hands-on engineer with strong expertise in RF and communications design, including software-defined radios (SDR), signal processing, and system-level integration.
The ideal candidate will contribute to the design, development, and validation of RF-based communication systems for mission-critical applications. This individual will work closely with cross-functional teams and senior technical leaders to deliver innovative and reliable solutions supporting national security.
What You'll Do
โ€ขContribute to the design and development of RF communication systems for defense and secure applications.
โ€ขDevelop, analyze, and validate models for communications and RF-based systems.
โ€ขDesign and implement signal processing algorithms.
โ€ขSupport software-defined radio (SDR) development using frameworks such as GNU Radio, REDHAWK, or similar.
โ€ขParticipate in system integration, testing, and validation activities, including hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) testing.
โ€ขCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams including software, hardware, and cybersecurity engineers.
โ€ขDocument technical work and present findings to internal stakeholders and program teams.

Required Qualifications:
โ€ขMust have an active DoD Security Clearance
โ€ขBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
โ€ข8+ years of experience in RF systems, communications engineering, or related fields.
โ€ขExperience in the design, implementation, and analysis of communication systems.
โ€ขProficiency with SDR frameworks such as GNU Radio, REDHAWK, or similar.
โ€ขExperience with C/C++ for embedded or systems-level applications.
โ€ขExperience with modeling, simulation, and system validation techniques.
โ€ขAbility to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
โ€ขExperience with SATCOM, tactical communications, or radar systems.
โ€ขFamiliarity with adaptive tuning, optimization, and error correction techniques.
โ€ขExperience supporting system integration and field testing.
โ€ขExposure to defense or government programs.
Work Environment
โ€ขHybrid role with on-site work required in Huntsville, AL.
โ€ขCore work hours are Monday to Friday, with flexible 9/80 work schedules.
โ€ขCollaborative, fast paced and technically innovative environment with remote team integration.
