The Senior Consultant is a key day-to-day client contact, hands-on senior project manager, and writer responsible for driving behavior change for global brands through world-class strategic planning and executional excellence, overseeing complex projects from concept to delivery.

How you'll make an impact

While there is no one “right” employee for this position, individuals who are most likely to succeed in the role possess superior written and oral communication skills, are detail-oriented and self-sufficient, and have strong interpersonal skills. As a Senior Consultant on the team, you will:

  • Serve as a key day-to-day client contact for questions, recommendations, and/or information requests, with minimal supervision by senior staff.
  • Manage multiple large projects (i.e., $75K and up), ensuring quality work and client satisfaction. This includes overseeing all aspects of the execution of a communication campaign (e.g., drafting, approvals, design, production).
  • Play an active role in client meetings: gathering information, establishing needs, clarifying expectations, developing strategies, and obtaining feedback.
  • Prepare project schedules and budgets.
  • Advise Client Manager, Account Executive, and client of project changes (i.e., budget, scope) to manage expectations.
  • Educate clients on content and design elements and how they can help achieve indicated communication goals.
  • With senior approval, lead internal project teams in developing strategies to ensure client needs are met.
  • Delegate work to the most qualified and cost-effective team members.
  • Review the design and content of communication materials. This includes ensuring consistency, accuracy, and appropriate tone, as well as reviewing the work of less experienced colleagues.
  • Expand relationships with current clients by developing more business opportunities or by cross-selling.
  • Assist with new business development, including research and concept development for proposals and presentations.
  • Prepare and submit timely bills.
  • Recruit, interview, and recommend new talent.
  • Manage and/or mentor less experienced staff. This includes providing recommendations for training and development opportunities

About You

Required: Bachelor's degree; 5 years' minimum related experience. 

Technical Requirements & Expertise

  • Proficiency in in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Knowledge of business internal communications  (e.g., content, design, production, technology) and Human Resources, with deep expertise in one or more of the following areas: defined benefit plans, defined contribution plans, health and welfare benefits, compensation, talent, employee listening, change management.
Person Specification
  • Experience:  8+ years of work experience in communications and/or Human Resources, ideally from corporate communications, public relations, journalism, advertising, marketing, corporate benefits, or benefits functions. Consulting background preferred.
  • Education:  Bachelor’s degree, preferably in English, business, communications, or a related field.
  • Certifications (e.g., CEBS and/or investment/finance related) and industry affiliations (e.g., IABC, IFEBP) are a plus, but not required.
  • Soft Skills: A proactive "can-do" attitude, excellent communication skills (written and oral), and the ability to work efficiently in a hybrid (Atlanta), multi-time-zone setting. Must also be able to juggle multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously.

We offer a competitive and comprehensive compensation package. The base salary range represents the anticipated low end and high end of the range for this position. The actual compensation will be influenced by a wide range of factors including, but not limited to previous experience, education, pay market/geography, complexity or scope, specialized skill set, lines of business/practice area, supply/demand, and scheduled hours.
