We are currently looking for a Manager, Communications Intelligence & Operations Specialist for our Houston, TX office.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Manager, Communications Intelligence & Operations leads the analytics, operational infrastructure, and workflow innovation that support the Corporate Communications function. This role is responsible for advancing narrative intelligence capabilities, building communications reporting and dashboarding, and identifying opportunities to improve team productivity through automation and AI-enabled tools.

This position serves as a central leader within the function, translating data into executive-ready insight while helping the communications team operate with greater speed, rigor, and scalability.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Narrative Intelligence and Media Analytics

  • Lead and expand the company’s media monitoring and narrative intelligence program using platforms such as PublicRelay, Cision, Meltwater, or similar tools.
  • Manage vendor relationships, reporting methodologies, and program optimization.
  • Track and analyze media coverage, sentiment, message pull-through, and competitive positioning.
  • Develop clear, decision-ready insights and briefings for Communications leadership and executive stakeholders.
  • Help define and evolve how communications effectiveness is measured across the organization.

Dashboarding and Communications Reporting

  • Build and maintain a live communications analytics dashboard using business intelligence tools such as Power BI or equivalent platforms.
  • Integrate data from media monitoring, social media analytics, and other communications inputs.
  • Establish consistent reporting cadences and performance metrics.
  • Ensure dashboards and reporting outputs are clear, reliable, and useful for decision-making.

AI-Enabled Workflow Optimization

  • Assess team workflows to identify opportunities for automation, efficiency, and AI-assisted support.
  • Develop and maintain practical tools and workflows that improve work such as media monitoring, briefing development, content support, and rapid-response preparation.
  • Use existing technology platforms and low-code or no-code tools where appropriate.
  • Document tools and workflows and support sustainable adoption across the team.
  • Provide training and change support to help team members successfully use new tools regardless of technical background.

Social Media Analytics and Listening

  • Own social media analytics, reporting, and audience listening through platforms such as Sprout Social.
  • Translate channel performance into practical insights for communications planning and optimization.
  • Connect social listening and performance data to the broader narrative intelligence and reputation monitoring framework.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 7-10 or more years of experience in communications analytics, marketing intelligence, business intelligence, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience building dashboards in tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar platforms.
  • Experience managing a media monitoring, media analytics, or narrative intelligence program.
  • Strong analytical skills, including experience working with exported datasets, basic data cleaning, and performance reporting.
  • Demonstrated interest in applied AI tools, automation, and workflow improvement.
  • Ability to translate complex information into clear, executive-facing narratives and recommendations.
  • Prior people management experience is preferred.
  • Experience in energy, infrastructure, or another regulated industry is a plus.
