What You Will Work On

You will lead the development of enterprise-wide internal communications that inform, engage, and inspire Team Members across Corporate, Stores, and Distribution Centers. You will translate complex business priorities into clear, compelling stories that connect Team Members to Academy's purpose, strategy, and culture. Your work will ensure messages are timely, relevant, and aligned with our brand standards while resonating with diverse audiences.


You will own Academy's internal content pipeline, shaping messaging across channels including the enterprise intranet, leadership communications, and key announcements. You will oversee editorial standards, content governance, and publishing processes to ensure accuracy and consistency. Through thoughtful storytelling and smart channel strategy, you will elevate how information is shared across the organization.

Who You Will Work With

You will partner closely with leaders and teams across Corporate functions, Stores, and Distribution Centers to understand business needs and deliver impactful messaging. You will collaborate with senior leaders to advise on communication strategy, executive messaging, and change communications.
You will also work cross-functionally with Marketing, HR, IT, and other partners to align internal messaging with enterprise initiatives. As a trusted communications partner, you will influence stakeholders, guide content contributors, and ensure a cohesive voice across the organization.


What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, English, public relations, marketing, advertising, or a related field (required)

  • MBA or MS in Communications (preferred)

  • 5+ years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, journalism, or content strategy (required)

  • Proven experience developing written communications for corporate or enterprise audiences (required)

  • Experience managing and optimizing digital communication platforms such as intranets or CMS tools (preferred)

  • Prior corporate retail or agency experience (preferred)

  • Experience managing employees and leading through influence

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines

  • A team-first attitude; while your core duties are your priority, you're happy to step in wherever you're needed

  • Flexible and adaptable to changing business priorities

  • Willingness to support business needs outside of standard hours when required

  • Ability to travel up to 10% as needed

  • Regular in-office attendance is required
