Job Summary
Responsible for managing and implementing a strategic, measurable internal communications program that supports and advances the Memorial Hermann strategies, mission, vision and values. Internal audiences include employees, physicians, volunteers and board members.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communication, or related field.
Licenses/Certifications: (None)
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
  • Five (5) years of professional experience in organizational communications, preferably in a corporate or health care environment, including serving in a supervisory capacity at least two (2) years.
  • Knowledge of AP Style is preferred.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Designs, executes and manages Memorial Hermann strategic, comprehensive internal communications plans and programs
  • Works collaboratively with the Communications, corporate and hospital leaders, and other identified groups to develop and achieve plan objectives.
  • With Communication leadership, sets and maintains Memorial Hermann's graphic and editorial standards. Ensures quality and consistency in writing and design, reviews and approves internal communications.
  • Writes and creates multiple internal communication deliverables, including memos, talking points, video scripts and presentations.
  • Promotes teamwork and a spirit of cooperation among the division's staff, as well as with the other departmental divisions.
  • Recruit, hire, train, evaluate and mentor staff.
  • In collaboration with Communications leaders, prepares annual budget, monitoring expenses to ensure cost effective operations.
  • Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
  • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
  • Demonstrates commitment to caring for every member of our community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences. Models Memorial Hermann's service standards of providing safe, caring, personalized and efficient experiences to patients and our workforce.
