Role Summary
We're looking for a Marketing & Communications Manager to help shape how the company is viewed across investors, defense stakeholders, commercial customers, partners, media, and future employees. This person will serve as the quarterback for a wide range of communications and marketing initiatives, coordinating internal teams and external agencies, advisors, consultants, and creative partners to ensure Rivet's story is told effectively and consistently.
The ideal candidate is an exceptional communicator, project manager, and relationship builder who can take a rough idea and turn it into compelling content, campaigns, and outcomes. This role is ideal for someone early in their career with significant upside, who wants broad ownership, direct exposure to company leadership, and the opportunity to help build a category-defining company.
Responsibilities
  • Partner closely with the CEO and leadership team to transform ideas, opinions, technical insights, and company perspectives into compelling articles, social content, presentations, speeches, interviews, marketing, and other materials.
  • Develop, own, and maintain Rivet's communications and marketing calendar, coordinating content, announcements, events, media opportunities, product launches, and executive communications into cohesive campaigns.
  • Develop and execute content strategies across relevant social media channels to increase awareness, strengthen Rivet's brand, and amplify company milestones and customer impact.
  • Manage Rivet's brand presence across websites, presentations, marketing materials, recruiting content, and other external-facing assets to ensure consistency in messaging and visual identity.
  • Lead the development of video, graphic, and visual content through external agencies, contractors, and creative partners, or directly where possible.
  • Identify and drive opportunities for earned media, industry publications, podcast appearances, awards, analyst engagement, and other initiatives that increase Rivet's visibility and credibility.
  • Coordinate Rivet's participation in conferences, trade shows, speaking engagements, customer events, and industry forums, including content development and event execution.
  • Prepare the company leadership for media, speaking, and public engagement.
  • Develop and execute co-marketing initiatives with customers, strategic partners, channel partners, and ecosystem stakeholders.
  • Manage relationships with external agencies, consultants, and vendors while ensuring projects are delivered on time and at a high standard.
  • Track both leading indicators and business outcomes across communications and marketing efforts, using data to refine strategy and maximize impact.

Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience in marketing, communications, public relations, content strategy, corporate communications, or a related field.
  • Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to quickly synthesize complex ideas and produce high-quality first drafts with minimal guidance.
  • Outstanding project management and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships and work effectively across a wide range of stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • Strong business judgment, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to learn complex technical and operational topics quickly.
  • Demonstrated ownership mentality and willingness to operate independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Ability to measure progress, track key metrics, and drive work toward clearly defined outcomes.
  • Strong alignment with Rivet's mission and an interest in supporting the people who perform some of the world's most important and demanding jobs.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with both commercial and government audiences and the nuances of communicating effectively with each.
  • Experience working in complex technical industries (e.g., aerospace, defense, industrial technology).
  • Experience supporting executive communications, founder-led content, or thought leadership initiatives.
