Job Description

GENERAL PURPOSE:

This position will be responsible to develop and execute a variety of broad Commodity strategies for MITER Brands. The Commodity Manager will be responsible for managing 3-4 subcategories. The Commodity Manager will develop supplier and commodity cost down strategies, analyzing/communicating market intelligence, leading commercial negotiations and monitor supplier performance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish supplier relationships (strategic, critical or tactical)
  • Maintain relationship with sustaining engineering & product management
  • Lead commercial QBR's
  • Conduct/analyze RFQ's
  • Supplier executive engagement/relationship
  • Acquire, maintain, and communicate market trends
  • Review supplier quarterly/annual reports (when applicable)
  • Lead routine supplier reviews
  • Support supplier quality improvements
  • Recommend supplier audits
  • Identify optimal terms across the enterprise
  • Support product rationalization/harmonization efforts
  • Drive supplier performance improvement when needed
  • Monitor supplier performance
  • Lead commercial negotiations
  • Developing category-level strategies
  • Curating supplier relationships
  • Achieving lower costs
  • Help to create a competitive advantage
  • Create analysis reports
  • Maintain relationship with NPD engineering & product management

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • BA/BS required; MS preferred
  • CPM, CPIM or CSCP certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years sourcing experience working for a major, large dollar operation.
  • Minimum of 1 year at Senior Buyer level or Strategic Buyer level in manufacturing sector.
