Commodity Manager - Corporate Services

If you are an experienced Procurement or Supply Chain Professional, looking for an opportunity to grow, Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you! You will develop commodity strategies for Indirect Corporate Services projects. This role includes managing category strategies across all Copeland locations globally, controlling costs and identifying new savings opportunities, ensuring supplier performance, as well as aligning procurement activities with the overall business objectives. Your duties and responsibilities will be completed under the general guidance of the Global Procurement Manager - Corporate Services. This is not a buyer position. Responsibilities are more in the procurement engagement, sourcing, contracting, and supplier onboarding arena.

AS A COMMODITY MANAGER - CORPORATE SERVICES, YOU WILL:

  • Champion our company values and promote a strong safety culture.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support indirect procurement processes.

  • Coordinate with suppliers, internal business stakeholders and Legal to ensure projects have clear goals, scope of work, and proposals.

  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and supplier consolidation.

  • Implement cost-savings initiatives across the business.

  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies in coordination with internal stakeholders and suppliers.

  • Adhere to commitments of scope, time and cost to support all internal stakeholders while managing changes in project scope.

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to meet their indirect procurement needs, prioritizing process speed, cost efficiency, emerging technology, and value.

  • Develop and support e-sourcing, RFx, and negotiation sourcing strategies.

  • Manage, maintain and update supplier contracts and agreements.

  • Conduct regular reviews and meetings with suppliers, functional groups, and internal stakeholders.

  • Communicate effectively, lead meetings, make presentations, and maintain professionalism by using core competencies and company values.

  • Train internal stakeholders of Procurement standard work, operating procedures and policies to support their project requirements.

SCHEDULE:

This role is hybrid eligible with the requirement to be in office at least three days per week. Colleagues are expected to demonstrate a collaboration first mindset, which is the understanding that teams will work together in-person and colleagues should be flexible to adjust their hybrid days based on business needs. You will have an opportunity to work with your team and leader to determine when you should be in office to drive meaningful connections and to best serve our customers.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Human Resources, or Finance or equivalent working experiences in lieu of the degree.

  • 3+ years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain management or related areas with a global scope.

  • Proven experience in developing and implementing supply chain strategies that drive operational excellence.

  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, contract law, supplier relationship management and supply chain technologies.

  • Exceptional analytic and strategic thinking skills with the ability to draw insights from data and articulate them into executive-level summaries.

  • Experience working in fast-paced environments while strategizing to fix complex issues.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence others to achieve objectives.

  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity, assess risk, and drive strategy in a structured manner.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and professional presentation skills.

  • Ability to travel to Copeland locations/suppliers domestically and globally up to 10% of your time.
