Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Supply Chain Intern to support various forecasting, production planning, inventory and procurement functions within our operations. This role offers hands-on experience in supply chain management for a company that produces a range of sunflower seed-based products, including wild bird seed, sunflower butter, and roasted & seasoned sunflower seeds. The intern will work closely with cross-functional teams to improve supply chain efficiency, optimize inventory levels, and enhance production planning strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in demand planning and forecasting to ensure optimal inventory levels for raw materials and finished goods.
  • Support import logistics, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of products.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost savings.
  • Work with procurement teams to assess supplier performance, lead times, and material availability.
  • Collaborate with production teams to improve material flow and reduce bottlenecks.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance supply chain processes and warehouse operations.
  • Conduct research on industry best practices for sustainable sourcing and supply chain resilience.

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in supply chain management, Operations, Business, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and familiarity with ERP or inventory management systems is a plus.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and collaborate with multiple departments.
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and contribute to supply chain efficiency.
