Job Description
Bag Machine Operator - 2nd Shift
Brownsville, TX
Compensation Includes
  • Starting Pay Rate of $12.00/hour

Available Shifts
  • 2nd: 2:45pm - 11:00pm

Responsibilities
  • Continuously perform all required tasks in a safe manner, adhering to all established safety rules and procedures.
  • Check bags for quality defects off the machine, do all quality checks and paper-work as per Quality Policy.
  • Follow all quality policies and procedures. Must comply with all good manufacturing practices.
  • Must comply with all safety practices and guidelines including PPE requirements.
  • Safely and efficiently:
    • Change roll, make splice by hand, maneuver roll into position, adhere roll to web on machine, and adjust paper rolls
    • Start, stop and monitor bag machinery and ensure it is running at the budgeted machine speed
    • Thread paper through machine smoothly as required
    • Package bags as specified
    • Ensure correct quantities of bags are being placed on the press
  • Report machine adjustments and repairs that are required to Machine tender, Adjuster and/or Supervisor
  • Submit accurate production reports daily and timely
  • Meet/achieve safety, quality, production waste and housekeeping goals set forth by management
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Prefer to have a High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Capable of communicating with all levels of internal and external customers
  • Must be able to think on your feet, work with limited supervision and make sound decisions
  • Should possess basic mechanical skills.
  • Must be capable of standing for long periods of time
  • Ability to frequently lift and carry 50 lbs
  • Must have basic troubleshooting abilities
  • Regularly required to stand, sit, move about facility, climb stairs, bend, twist, kneel, crouch or crawl, use hands and fingers to touch, handle, or feel objects, tools and controls, grasp, push, pull, reach with hands and arms, lift above shoulder level. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
