Job description

Student Support Services (Part-Time, 29 hours/week)
Pay: $23.50 - $26.75/hour (depending on experience)
Location: White Hawk Academy
Reports To: Alternative High School Director
Position Summary
The Student Support Services staff member provides direct support to students and families while assisting with administrative and data-related functions essential to the successful operation of the alternative high school program. This position serves as a key liaison between students, families, teachers, and administrators, supporting student engagement, attendance, and academic progress in a flexible, student-centered learning environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Student Support








  • Build positive, supportive relationships with students in an alternative education setting.
  • Assist students with organization, goal-setting, and problem-solving to support academic and behavioral success.
  • Monitor attendance, engagement, and progress; communicate concerns to appropriate staff.
  • Support implementation of individual student plans (e.g., credit recovery, intervention plans, behavior supports).
  • Provide supervision and support during non-instructional times as assigned.

Parent and Family Engagement

  • Serve as an additional point of contact for families, fostering positive communication and engagement.
  • Assist with scheduling and coordination of meetings, conferences, and support services.
  • Support family outreach efforts, including phone calls, emails, and documentation.

Administrative Support

  • Provide clerical and organizational support to administrators and instructional staff.
  • Maintain accurate student records in accordance with FERPA and district policies.
  • Assist with scheduling, filing, correspondence, and preparation of reports.
  • Support daily program operations as needed.

Data Entry and Analysis

  • Assist in tracking student progress toward credits, graduation requirements, and program goals.
  • Generate basic reports and summaries for staff and administration.
  • Ensure data accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with district and state requirements.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relatable work experience preferred.
  • Experience working with adolescents, preferably in an educational or youth-support setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including data entry and use of spreadsheets or student information systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with FERPA requirements.
