What You'll do:
  • Design, develop, and maintain backend systems using Java and Node.js frameworks like NestJS.
  • Build scalable systems using event streaming technologies like Kafka
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and implement new features and functionalities for the platform.
  • Refactor and improve existing codebases to enhance performance, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Develop and implement RESTful APIs adhering to best practices and design patterns.
  • Work with cutting-edge cloud technologies.
  • Solving interesting and challenging problems alongside a great team of engineers.
  • Developing new skills as you push your knowledge, and our technology, to new levels.

What you bring:
  • Masters in Computer Science and 2+ years of experience as a Backend Software Engineer with a focus on Java and Node.js or 4+ years of experience and Bachelors in Computer Science.
  • Experience with SQL Server and/or MongoDB - writing efficient queries, designing schemas, and ensuring data security.
  • Familiarity with designing, building, and maintaining RESTful web APIs.
  • Experience using Jira for sprint planning and tracking tasks/bugs.
  • Proficient with modern IDEs such as VS Code for day-to-day development.
  • Familiarity with software development best practices, including SOLID principles, design patterns, and unit testing.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex issues.
  • Passion for developing software and continuous improvement.
  • Strong desire to seek pragmatic, innovative solutions to complex business and technical problems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with internal teams including customer support, product, and engineering.
  • Demonstrable contributions to open-source projects.
  • Experience with cloud technologies, specifically AWS and Google Cloud Platform, including deploying, monitoring, and scaling applications.
  • Virtualization and orchestration of applications (Docker/Kubernetes/ECS).
  • Experience building microservices architectures.
