What are Commission Rivian Sales?

Commission Rivian Sales refers to sales positions at Rivian, an electric vehicle manufacturer, where employees earn a commission based on the number or value of vehicles they sell. In this role, sales representatives work with customers to explain Rivian's products, answer questions, facilitate test drives, and guide buyers through the purchasing process. The commission structure is designed to incentivize high performance and reward employees for successful sales. This job typically requires strong communication skills, a passion for electric vehicles, and customer service experience. Compensation often includes a base salary plus commission, and may offer additional benefits.

How does the commission structure work for Rivian Sales roles, and what should new hires expect when starting out?

In a Rivian Sales role, commission structures often combine a base salary with performance-based bonuses or commissions tied to sales targets. New hires can expect an initial ramp-up period where they learn about Rivian's products and sales processes, often with mentorship or team support. Achieving commissions typically involves meeting specific sales quotas, providing exceptional customer service, and collaborating closely with colleagues in marketing and product teams. Success in this role requires proactive outreach, understanding customer needs, and staying updated on the latest electric vehicle trends. As experience grows, so does the potential for higher earnings and advancement opportunities within the sales team.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Commission Rivian Sales Representative, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Commission Rivian Sales Representative, you need strong sales acumen, product knowledge of electric vehicles, and experience in retail or automotive sales, often supported by a high school diploma or higher. Familiarity with CRM systems, digital sales platforms, and Rivian-specific sales tools is typically required. Exceptional interpersonal skills, persuasive communication, and customer-focused problem-solving help you stand out in this role. These skills are crucial for building trust, meeting sales targets, and delivering an excellent customer experience in a competitive EV market.

About Rivian

Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract.

As a company, we constantly challenge what’s possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.

  • Engage and support customers through order confirmation, following up across various stages of the sales process to drive conversion through the funnel and increase customer satisfaction, repeat business and referrals.

  • Host and support a variety of retail activations and experiential events to generate demand and connect with the broader Rivian community.

  • Study and solicit customer feedback to understand and solve for customer pain points and opportunities for continuous improvement.

  • Stay up to date on auto and EV competitive landscape and trends to keep a close pulse on what customers are considering and effectively build value in our products and overcome objections to purchase.

  • Share success strategies, best practices and continuous feedback with teammates to cultivate a culture of learning and winning together built on trust.

  • Perform keyholder location opening and closing duties and ensure policy & procedure are followed; duties include completing operational checklists, leading team huddles, and writing daily business recaps.

  • Support and motivate fellow team members by providing clear direction and feedback.

  • Resolve customer escalations in the moment and promptly cascade outstanding issues to the appropriate teams.

  • Communicate business trends and data to the leadership team with recommendations regarding areas of opportunity.

  • Pay close attention to customer sentiment and the quality of the service provided; coaching for exceptional performance.
