Job description

Job Purpose

The Operations Manager is responsible for operational efficiency across the office. This includes load board management, managed accounts, customer SOP’s, bad build reports, bot management, operational tech roll outs, RFP tracking management, NS and CS liaisons, and claims management.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for load‑board management 24/7; ensuring loads are placed into “active” quickly, covered, and customers are communicated to if loads need to roll.
  • Manage office staff: Account Managers, Account Coordinators, and interns on a daily basis.
  • Assign daily tasks for each operations personnel.
  • Conduct monthly reviews with all Account Managers and Account Coordinators, providing measurable objectives and follow‑up.
  • Monthly meetings with Executive Management to review AM/AC performances and address concerns.
  • Provide operational training for new hire ACs and interns and continue education on new topics during their first 12 months.
  • Manage office PTO and shift operations support to cover accounts lacking personnel.
  • Call all AMs and ACs who are working from home once a day with topics for each account.
  • Verbally communicate with all AMs and ACs in office regarding each account’s topics.
  • Monitor bot activity and adjust bot parameters daily to account for market shifts and increase bid and win percentage.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field (preferred).
  • 2+ years logistics experience (preferred).
  • Transportation or logistics experience required.
  • Strong ability to mentor, motivate, and develop a strong team.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate with various levels of leadership.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑energy environment.
  • Ability to lead and develop a team of employees.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common industry documents and reports.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the transportation and business community.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and mediate with all levels of management within the company.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and basic arithmetic.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and related computer programs.
Work Environment

Standard office environment, usually indoors away from the elements with moderate noise.

Physical Requirements

Maintain a stationary position for extended periods; move about the office, operate computers and files as needed; frequently communicate with others. Requires sitting, talking, hearing, standing, walking, and reaching. Occasionally lifting boxes up to 20 pounds.

Schedule & Travel

Full‑time benefits‑eligible position. Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Travel required to offices and conferences.
