Job description

Architectural Products of Virginia, “APV”, is an industry leader in commercial door, door hardware, and security product distribution, serving the construction industry in Virginia, Maryland, and DC. Under the direction of the Vice President of Sales, you will serve as a Project Engineer within the Project Manager Trainee Program for APV. The Project Engineer plays an important role in the day-to-day operations of the company’s sales and contract customer support efforts. This critical position is the link between the customer and the company.

Job Title: Project Engineer

Location: Ashland, VA

Pay: $75,000 per year

Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K

About the Role:

  • Working closely with a Senior Project Manager toassistin estimating, closing, and managing projects.
  • Preparing estimates and quotations according to established guidelines.
  • Aggressively following up on proposals and sales leads, including outside sales calls.
  • Managing projects including preparation of submittals,assistingwithpurchasingandshipping of materials, and communicating with customers to ensureaccurateandtimelydelivery.
  • Assist Senior Project Manager in day-to-day activities of managing ongoing projects as well as developing new business.
  • Provide the critical interface between customers, personnel, and other APV employees involved. Represent APV as a reliable, innovative supplier of high-quality innovative doors, frames, and hardware.
  • Continually develop personal skills,knowledgeand experience to transition to full commission-based Project Manager.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering, orrelatedfield preferred.
  • Three (3) or more years of sales experience within a complex, technical, and diverse B2B business structure is strongly desired.
  • Excellent communication (written, verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in CRM software such asHubspot, Salesforce, Acumatica, and Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Ability to read and understand both technical and operational information.
