Our Client is a leading commercial mechanical contractor serving the Greater Houston market.
They specializes in HVAC, plumbing, mechanical construction, tenant improvements, design-build, healthcare and medical facilities, retrofits, and ongoing service solutions. Our success is built on long-standing customer relationships, technical
expertise, and self-perform within budget.
System One is seeking a highly motivated Commercial Mechanical Sales Representative to drive new business development and expand our market presence throughout the Greater Houston area. This is a true sales producer role focused on generating new opportunities, strengthening existing customer relationships, and increasing revenue through strategic business development efforts. The successful candidate will identify and develop opportunities in tenant improvement projects, healthcare and medical facilities, commercial retrofits, preventive maintenance and service agreements, negotiated work, direct-to-owner opportunities, and other targeted growth markets. This individual will collaborate closely with estimating, operations, and project management teams to deliver solutions that meet customer objectives while supporting the company's long-term growth strategy. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong relationship-building skills, a proven ability to develop new business, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service and value to clients.
Responsibilities
  • Develop new business opportunities with owners, property managers, general contractors, developers, facility managers, and repeat customers.
  • Pursue targeted work including TI projects, healthcare/medical opportunities, commercial HVAC/plumbing retrofits, service work, maintenance agreements, and negotiated/direct-to-owner projects.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships that support repeat work and long-term backlog growth.
  • Coordinate with estimating, project management, service, and operations teams to qualify opportunities and support successful project handover.
  • Help identify higher-value pursuits and avoid low-probability, low-margin bid chasing.
  • Maintain consistent sales activity, pipeline tracking, customer follow-up, and opportunity reporting.
  • Represent Graves Mechanical professionally in customer meetings, site visits, networking events, and industry relationships.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of sales, business development, account management, estimating, project coordination, or customer-facing experience.
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to identify customer needs and connect them with practical HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, service, or construction solutions.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable developing opportunities independently.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the Houston market.

Preferred
  • Experience in commercial mechanical contracting, HVAC, plumbing, construction, facility services, tenant improvement, healthcare construction, retrofit work, or service sales.
  • Existing relationships with Houston-area owners, property managers, GCs, facility managers, developers, or healthcare/commercial clients.
  • Experience selling or supporting service agreements, maintenance work, retrofit projects, TI work, or negotiated construction opportunities.
  • Familiarity with CRM, pipeline tracking, bid follow-up, or sales reporting.
