Under the direction of the Software Development manager (IT Manager I), the incumbent will oversee the work of the software development technical staff who perform a wide range of system and software development projects in the Software Engineering domain. The incumbent works closely with program subject-matter experts, executive staff, and vendors on system design, development, analysis, testing, and implementation. The incumbent will work with the IT Supervisor II over the Project and Data Services team to manage vendor contracts and facilitate communication among all project stakeholders. As part of the supervisory duties, the incumbent will manage the team's administrative processes such as hiring, leave requests, timesheets, etc.

Department Information The California Commission on Teacher Credentialing is an agency in the Executive Branch of California State Government. It was created in 1970 by the Ryan Act and is the oldest of the autonomous state standards boards in the nation. The major purpose of the agency is to serve as a state standards board for educator preparation for the public schools of California, the licensing and credentialing of professional educators in the State, the enforcement of professional practices of educators, and the discipline of credential holders in the State of California.
Effective July 1, 2025, the California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) implemented the temporary Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025). PLP 2025 directs that each employee receive a temporary reduction in pay in exchange for PLP 2025 leave credits. The temporary salary reduction percentage and the number of PLP 2025 leave credits are based on the position's associated bargaining unit.
