Job Description
WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
The Finance Manager is responsible for leading monthly financial performance reporting, month end close coordination, management reporting, and business performance analysis for U.S. Wealth Management. The role serves as a critical link between business leaders, Financial Control, and enterprise finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, timely performance insights, and effective financial governance. The successful candidate will provide financial leadership throughout the monthly close cycle, support executive decision making through analysis and commentary, and coordinate key finance deliverables across multiple stakeholders. This position plays a key role in maintaining financial transparency, supporting strategic discussions, and ensuring the organization has a clear understanding of business performance and emerging trends.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
  • Financial Close & Reporting: Lead monthly close coordination across U.S. Wealth Management Finance in partnership with Financial Control; review P&L and balance sheet results, investigate material variances, and coordinate management reporting packages and executive summaries; ensure timely completion of all enterprise and head office reporting requirements
  • Performance Management & Insight: Develop and communicate financial insights to support management decision making by analyzing business performance drivers, emerging trends, and financial risks; prepare recurring and ad-hoc analyses for senior leadership; monitor key performance indicators and provide preliminary monthly outlooks and estimate updates to business leaders and finance stakeholders.
  • Financial Governance & Controls: Support governance surrounding expenses, allocations, accruals, and financial reporting processes while maintaining strong control and documentation practices; partner with business leaders to evaluate financial impacts of strategic decisions and initiatives; support internal audits, regulatory requests, and control related activities as required.
  • Enterprise Partnership & Collaboration: Serve as primary point of contact between U.S. Wealth Management Finance, Financial Control, and enterprise finance teams; coordinate responses to head office inquiries and information requests; support implementation of finance transformation and reporting enhancement initiatives while contributing to continuous improvement efforts focused on reporting quality, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Team Leadership: Coach and develop finance professionals while fostering a collaborative and accountable team environment; support prioritization and execution of multiple concurrent deliverables under tight timelines; promote knowledge sharing, process discipline, and operational excellence across the finance function.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Must have:
  • 5+ Years of progressive experience in Finance, FP&A, Accounting, Financial Reporting, or Performance Management
  • Demonstrated experience supporting monthly close, management reporting, variance analysis, and executive level financial reporting
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and financial storytelling skills with the ability to translate complex information into actionable insights
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high quality work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with experience partnering across Finance, Accounting, and business leadership teams

Nice to have:
  • Financial services, wealth management, banking, or capital markets experience
  • Experience working within a large, matrixed organization with multiple stakeholders and governance requirements
  • Experience with financial planning and reporting systems such as TM1, Hyperion, Essbase, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms
  • CPA, CFA, MBA or other similar qualifications preferred

For Minnesota the good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $70,000 - $130,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate's experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
