Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Nextflow Engineer in New York, NY.
Summary:
We are seeking a strong Nextflow Pipeline Engineer to support a new client engagement focused on genomic sequencing and bioinformatics workflows. This is an initial project engagement as part of a growing relationship, with the opportunity to contribute to foundational data engineering efforts in a highly specialized domain.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and support data engineering engagements within the genomics and bioinformatics space
* Design, build, and optimize Nextflow-based data pipelines for genomic sequencing workflows
* Develop scalable, reproducible workflows for processing large-scale biological datasets
* Collaborate with client stakeholders to implement efficient workflow orchestration and pipeline automation
* Ensure pipeline development aligns with GxP compliance standards where applicable
* Contribute to overall data engineering best practices within a regulated environment
REQUIREMENTS:
* 3+ years of experience in Nextflow development or pipeline engineering
* Strong experience in bioinformatics and genomic sequencing workflows
* Proven background in data engineering systems and workflow orchestration
* Familiarity with GxP environments (GxP, Google Cloud Platform, GMP, or similar regulated frameworks)
* Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality solutions in a short-term engagement
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience working in regulated life sciences or healthcare environments
* Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) supporting bioinformatics pipelines
* Familiarity with tools and frameworks used in genomic data processing
Additional Details:
* This is a new client engagement, with potential for future work beyond the initial project
* No travel required; All work can be completed remotely
* Candidate identification will trigger the SOW signature process
* Ideal candidate will be able to quickly ramp and deliver impact in a short timeframe
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
