How you'll make an impact:

As a Sales Executive, you’ll play a critical role in growing Mill Rock Packaging by hunting for new business, building long-term relationships, and serving as a trusted, consultative partner to our customers.

This is a true hunter role—ideal for someone who thrives on opening doors, closing complex deals, and building a book of business from the ground up.

Territories / Regions

  • Mountain: Salt Lake City, UT or Aurora, CO

  • Midwest: St. Paul, MN or Hutchinson, MN

  • East: South Windsor, CT

You do not need to live in the exact city you support, but you should be based within the region to maintain a strong local network and customer presence.

This role is remote with frequent regional travel.

What you’ll do:

  • Proactively identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities in the folding carton paperboard space

  • Build a book of business through networking, industry relationships, and consultative selling

  • Present, propose, and negotiate solutions that align customer needs with MRP’s capabilities

  • Partner closely with operations, estimating, and other internal teams to deliver on customer commitments

  • Attend and represent MRP at industry events, trade shows, and conferences

  • Track and report pipeline activity, sales results, and forecasts

  • Continuously evaluate and refine your sales strategies to improve performance

What it takes to succeed:

  • Direct experience selling folding carton / paperboard packaging

  • Proven success building and managing a book of business from the ground up

  • Consultative sales approach with the ability to sell complex, value-driven solutions

  • Strong relationship-building and influencing skills

  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets

  • Comfortable analyzing data, metrics, and customer insights to inform decisions

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal direction

  • Willingness to travel within your region and occasionally nationally

Preferred Qualifications (nice-to-haves)

We value diverse experiences and perspectives—they help us innovate every day. While these qualifications are preferred, they’re not required:

  • Deeper experience selling into industries such as food & beverage, spirits, health & beauty, or pharmaceuticals

  • Established regional network within the folding carton packaging industry

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • A sales culture that respects your craft – We understand long sales cycles, complex deals, and the value of relationships.

  • Autonomy with support – You’ll have the freedom to hunt and build, backed by an experienced operations and leadership team.
