Job description

The Technical Sales Consultant is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying, qualifying, and converting leads into customers. As the first point of contact for many potential clients, you will play a critical role in promoting Slingshot Biosciences' products and solutions while building strong relationships with researchers, clinicians, and industry professionals.

This position is ideal for a self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills and a passion for life sciences who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Location/territory: We are hiring for multiple territories and ideally looking for individuals based in San Francisco, San Diego, or Washington DC. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive Sales Growth:
    • Grow sales of Slingshot products through sales activities at customer locations in the territory, including biopharma, academic and diagnostic accounts.
    • Routinely conduct sales calls, vendor shows, lunch & learns, and other face-to-face sales activities in the territory.  Travel in the territory as needed to reach target customers and accounts.  
    • Work independently or with teammates and distributors as needed to achieve business objectives, including building relationships with key distributors to get Slingshot products stocked on-site where appropriate, and to gain access to key customers in target accounts. 
  • Customer Engagement:
    • Build and nurture relationships with flow cytometry core facilities and users in target accounts.  Map out key functional groups using flow cytometry in target accounts including cell therapy, biopharma, translational medicine, and diagnostics customers..
    • Effectively communicate technical product information and match solutions to customer needs.
    • Build schedule and cadence for call cycles at key accounts to ensure portfolio adoption in accounts across the territory. 
  • Pipeline Management:
    • Maintain and manage a robust sales pipeline using CRM tools (Salesforce).
    • Accurately track sales activities, follow-ups, and account information to ensure effective progress toward goals.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with inside sales, marketing, FAS and other partners to align strategies and support campaigns, including lead-generation campaigns, attendance at regional flow cytometry association meetings..
    • Partner with sales colleagues to coordinate efforts across national and global accounts, to harmonize strategies, increase networks and raise Slingshot Bio's profile..
  • Sales Performance:
    • Achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
    • Provide regular updates and reports on sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of sales experience, preferably in the biotech, life sciences, or healthcare industries.
  • Strong understanding of life sciences tools and technologies including a strong preference for background in flow cytometry, as well as market understanding in one of our end markets of cell therapy or clinical diagnostics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build rapport quickly.
  • Highly organized with strong time management skills.
  • Experience using CRM tools, analyzing sales data and trends in spreadsheets.
  • A results-driven mindset with a passion for contributing to a growing company.
Our salary ranges are calculated by role and level. Your position within that range will be determined by your job-related knowledge, skills, experience, relevant education, and training/certifications. In addition to those factors, we also examine internal equity as well as consider current market rate, and title may be assessed one level lower or higher accordingly. After you join the company your performance, contributions, and results along with business and organizational needs will affect your base salary. The base salary range for this full-time position is between $115,000 - $150,000 + commission + benefits.
