My client is investing in Real Time Product Quality initiative and significantly improve the process and product quality consistency of biologics and small molecular products. To reach that goal, we are exploring the application of state of the art data science and machine learning while leveraging available process knowledge and a wealth of development and manufacturing data to build end to end product quality predictive meta-models. We are looking for passionate scientists to join this exciting initiative. 

As an Advanced Process Analytics Scientist, you will work with scientists / engineers to develop and deploy scalable predictive and data mining models for biological processes. This includes but not limited to developing tools for deeper understanding of the underlying biological phenomena that lead to differences in product quality (e.g., via metabolic flux modeling, proteomics modeling, bio-informatics); develop robust spectral models correlating to valuable metabolites, cell mass, and product quality attributes (e.g., chemometric models for NIR, Raman). 


In this role you will: 

Define data needs, evaluate data quality, perform and critique appropriate analysis including advanced chemometrics modeling and/or advanced machine learning methods. 

Interface closely with Scientists/Engineers in Manufacturing and Development to understand/define requirements, domain knowledge/models, and data needs. 

Perform independent data analysis/interpretation, identify issues as applicable and design the path forward for troubleshooting. 

Effectively communicate technical analyses and results. 

Publish the research result in top peer-reviewed journals.


Qualifications

Qualifications


Knowledge of cell culture, purification, and analytical biochemistry.


Expertise in chemometrics as applied to spectroscopy is a plus 


Experience and passion in applying machine learning and data mining techniques to solve problems involving big data sets 


Experience with one or more statistical and mathematical programming packages (R, Python, Matlab, SAS). 


Excellent teamwork and customer focus. 


Ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear, precise and actionable manner. 


Innovation and critical thinking skills, with strong learning aptitude and agility 


Ability to take initiative and deliver tangible results under deadlines.


Education PhD or PhD in Chemical / Biochemical Engineering, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Biology, Chemistry, or other related disciplines.
