Four Diamond Service Agreement

JOB SUMMARY
The Retail Buyer is responsible for developing and executing product strategies that maximize sales, margin and inventory turnover to achieve sales and profit goals. This position is a direct report to the Retail Purchasing Supervisor
JOB FUNCTIONS
Key Responsibilities
• Maintains and develops vendor relationships.
• Participates in the development of standards and procedures that support the business plan and short and long term department goals.
• Work with Receiving Supervisor to ensure timely flow of invoices and packing slips to Accounts Payable.
• Work with Accounts Payable to resolve discrepancies on invoices and receiving documents.
• Identify opportunities and risks to maximize business.
• Interview vendors and evaluate products and capabilities as a supplier.
• Develop and manage growth strategies for core vendors.
• Analyze product performance weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually and year to date.
• Identify new product needs that support product strategy.
• Identify and recommend discontinuation of poor performing products.
• Communicate effectively with suppliers regarding product specifications and price quotes.
• Knowledge of purchasing methods and procedures including open market purchasing and negotiating techniques.
• Deal skillfully and tactfully with suppliers, to ensure adequate and timely response to purchasing needs.
• Significant amount of time working in the purchasing system, building items, generating purchasing documents, and analyzing data.
• Ability to logically and independently plan, organize and complete work in a timely manner.
• Ability to read material and review documents for comprehension and understanding.
• Keep retail management informed of all problems or unusual events and/or refers difficult situations to their attention for handling.
• Travel may be required for the purpose of meeting vendors, establish business relationships and visit product selection.
• To ensure and make known that PRC business is carried out economically, efficiently, effectively and in accordance with company policies with the purpose of ensuring accountability.
• Ensure that all billable services are properly reported and accurately reflected in purchasing system and financial statements.
• Ensure that adjustments are appropriate and approved.
• Ensure that the recording and reporting of all Pechanga assets is carried out in accordance with current SOP's and Policies and Procedures; compliance with all internal controls and outside agency regulations are maintained and internal controls and procedures are efficient, effective and economical.

Education
• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) one to three years buying experience in a hotel/casino environment or related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience Required

• COMMUNICATION SKILLS: This position requires the ability to read and interpret retail documentation and reports. This position also requires the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests, clients, and other Team Members of the organization. This position also requires the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals as well as the ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: This position requires the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• REASONING ABILITY: This position requires the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. This position also requires the ability to solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• High level of computer literacy with experience in the purchasing inventory system, word, Excel and data entry.
• Ability to logically and independently plan, organize and complete work in a timely manner.
• Knowledge of purchasing methods and procedures including open market purchasing and formal contract and negotiating techniques.
• Knowledge of company purchasing policies and procedures.
• Must be flexible and willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
