Job description

Technical Writer (New Kensington, PA)

As the Technical Writer within the Sleep & Respiratory Care portfolio, you will be creating/updating US and global instructions for use and labeling for regulated medical device products.

Your role: Develop, update, and maintain labeling including instructions for use, online help files, device labeling, and packaging for medical devices. Translate complex engineering, clinical, and regulatory inputs into clear, concise, user-focused content. Partner with experienced Technical Writers to develop expertise in medical device labeling requirements and support the creation and maintenance of labels, IFUs, and labeling plans throughout the product lifecycle.

Ideal Candidate
  • No prior experience required with Bachelor's Degree OR a minimum 4 years of experience with Vocational Education in areas such as Technical Writing or equivalent.
  • Your skills include attention to detail, analytical thinking, problem solving and proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience with using AI and/or developing or managing AI agents for technical writing related tasks, preferred.
  • You have a Vocational or Bachelorโ€™s degree in English, Writing, Engineering or equivalent.

You can cultivate effective relationships with internal/external partners and provide influence over projects and peer groups, demonstrating full understanding of engineering specialization within the medical devices sector.

Location & Work Requirements

For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the companyโ€™s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the companyโ€™s main facilities, generally at the customersโ€™ or suppliersโ€™ locations.

This is an office role.

For this position, you must reside in or within commuting distance to New Kensington, PA.

Philips Transparency Details

The pay range for this position in New Kensington, PA is $65,000 to $103,000. The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered.
