Operations Support Specialist

Position Summary:

The Warehouse Operations Support Specialist, 2nd Shift, is responsible for supporting the operational and administrative processes for orders that require Material Test Reports (MTRs). This includes picking and checking material, processing and reviewing MTR documentation, verifying product information and quantities, and ensuring all required documentation is accurate and attached to the appropriate order. This position requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, as MTRs provide customers with important information regarding the material they receive, where it came from, how it was manufactured, and confirmation that it meets applicable industry specifications. The Warehouse Operations Support Specialist, 2nd Shift will utilize Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office programs to document and communicate information while also performing essential warehouse functions such as picking, packing, labeling, and safely handling material.

The Warehouse Operations Support Specialist, 2nd Shift provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers and demonstrates strict confidentiality with all team members while serving as an ambassador of our culture.

Administrative/ MTR Essential Functions:
  • Process Material Test Reports (MTRs) for pipe and fittings requiring certification.
  • Match MTRs to the correct material and customer order, ensuring documentation corresponds to the product being shipped.
  • Review detailed material information, including specifications, manufacturing information, heat numbers, and other required documentation.
  • Enter, organize, and maintain MTR and order information using Excel and other Microsoft Office programs.
  • Verify that product information, quantities, and documentation are correct before materials leave the warehouse.
  • Communicate with internal teams and, when needed, external customers regarding MTRs, material information, and order questions.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation while meeting deadlines and prioritizing multiple requests.
  • Other duties as assigned
Warehouse Essential Functions:
  • Pick pipe, fittings, and other materials using forklifts, stand-up order pickers, carts, and overhead cranes.
  • Assist with loading, unloading, and movement of materials throughout the warehouse.
  • Double-check materials, product information, and quantities to ensure orders are accurate.
  • Safely pack, label, and stage material for shipment based on customer requirements.
  • Identify discrepancies or issues with materials and communicate them to the appropriate team member.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient warehouse environment.
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Complete understanding of the picking, checking, packing, and MTR processes.
  • Must be able to safely operate the overhead crane.
  • Requires safe operation of sit-down/ stand-up forklifts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with office and operations staff.
  • Requires intermediate computer skills (Outlook, Microsoft Office, Xerox).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must possess strong mathematical aptitude.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
  • Proficient in English for business communication.
Required Experience and Education:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least one year of experience in distribution, order fulfillment, operations support, order processing, inventory, or a related environment preferred.
  • Experience with MTR documentation, material picking, pipe picking, checking, or similar distribution functions is preferred.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires visual, hearing, and speech acuity.
  • Requires the ability to safely operate material-handling equipment, including forklifts and overhead cranes.
  • May be exposed to extreme temperatures, noise, fumes, and other conditions associated with a warehouse/distribution environment.
